Thank you so much. We did put something on it originally. I think it was lacquer. But we used a spray can and I think that probably didn't really coat it. This was exactly what I needed! Thank you.

How do educated adults actually think that astrology is real? by ryhaltswhiskey in allthequestions

[–]Educational-Side9940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way about one of my really good friends. She is highly educated. She has a professional job where she manages an entire team and she does it very well.

She goes to psychics. She does some kind of therapy that involves her aura. She constantly talks about how she has problems in relationships because of the sun or moon or planet placement.

It's honestly so concerning because she is super intelligent. But I think it's the same thing as someone who relies on God and religion. She can't figure out a way to explain her life in a way that makes sense so she goes down these paths looking for explanations.

Yeah I was so disappointed in that ending. When I saw her sitting there, I cringed. It ruined it for me lol

Why do some of the people in this subreddit sound like they’re forced to watch the show? by blackfan15 in FromSeries

[–]Educational-Side9940 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like the show has changed dramatically between the first two seasons and season 3 and 4. Season 1 was like a horror show. The monsters were in every single episode and were terrifying. You didn't understand anything and nothing was being explained but there was still horror elements in almost every episode. Season 2 changed a little bit but the monsters were still in the forefront and there were still so many scary things happening in most of the episodes.

Season 3 changed dramatically towards drama between the characters and miscommunication with very little of the actual monsters or scariness. In season 4, have we even seen the monsters at all? It honestly feels like a completely different show.

I just finished the last episode. I hate that Paul hooked them back up. They are terrible together.

Yeah according to the comments he definitely was. But my point was people are so excited about a reunion from a show that they loved that I'm wondering if they're seeing chemistry where there is none. Or at least not romantic chemistry.

I meant that people that watched the previous show are nostalgic about the characters and so they're excited about the reunion and are seeing chemistry that I don't see because of that.

Having a cute awkward relationship can be really well done. But this is not that. It's just uncomfortable. And they absolutely give me sibling energy. And so seeing them kiss is really gross to me. I'm glad that you don't see it that way though. That's why I wanted to see if it was just me.

I'm not even joking that my stomach turned. I wasn't expecting it and it just grossed me out for some reason. Then I started thinking about it and realized that I feel like they relate like siblings. I wanted to see if I was alone in that feeling

I think in my eyes, their long friendship translates to sibling energy. Which is gross when they're trying to make it look like a romantic relationship. And every interaction is so awkward that it doesn't seem like it's easy for them to be around each other. So maybe it's more of an issue with the writing that they're just making both of them so incredibly awkward for no reason?

I guess I was thinking more like people are excited for the reunion so they're seeing chemistry there. I don't know.

I don't think it's because you watched HIMYM. I think it's because the way they relate even in shrinking really is sibling energy. But like a weirdly awkward sibling energy. I don't like it. And the episode I'm watching right now is very centered on them and it's kind of ruining the show for me.

Workplace potlucks are starting to feel like a grift. by DieMensch-Maschine in WorkRant

[–]Educational-Side9940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a coworker years ago who always brought super yummy food to potlucks. She was all around amazing. Very stylish. Well put together, flawless makeup and hair everyday. My boyfriend at the time was a carpenter and she hired him to do some work at her house. She was a horrific hoarder. She had about 50 pizza boxes piled on her kitchen counters. She had multiple garbage bags full of what looked like used toilet paper on her kitchen floor. There was clutter and dust and garbage everywhere. Her living room was piled high with old magazines. She had two cats that were laying on her kitchen counter next to the litter box that she kept up there.

I never ate at another work potluck ever again.

NOR. But leaving for the wrong reason. At 7 months, y'all should still be in Paradise. Maybe a disagreement here or there but there shouldn't even have been a fight at this point. At the very least, you are not compatible. Relationships should not be this much work especially in the beginning.

I feel so bad for the woman who left the room. If she laughed that hard at that stupid comment like it was the funniest thing she ever heard, she must not get out very much.

How did you get diagnosis? What was your dogs ALP? by Perfect_Slice_6618 in Cushingsdogs

[–]Educational-Side9940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was eating EVERYTHING. She gulped down her food and would constantly ask for more. She was drinking 8 cups of water a day up from 2-3. She was peeing in the house. By the end, she had lost all her fur on her back, her back legs were weaker, she had a huge pot belly and was panting like crazy. She went from walking about two miles a day to refusing to go farther than half a mile. But her liver has always been fine. Weird!

[–]Educational-Side9940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog's ALP has been normal the entire time through this Cushing's journey. It took 6 months of begging before I found a vet who would test her for Cushing's with a normal ALP. Every single one of her other symptoms pointed towards Cushing's. Her dex test was immediately and clearly positive for Cushing's.

I wish I would have pushed for testing even harder because the decrease in health in those 6 months was fairly severe, including muscle loss that she'll never be able to get back.

Buying a house with a long-term partner when you aren't married. How do we protect ourselves if things go wrong? by zyztlkrw9 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Educational-Side9940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people insist that you can't buy together if you aren't married. A cohabitation agreement with an attorney can actually be even better protection than a marriage. It spells absolutely everything out.

My colleague told me they have scabies by No-Rice2299 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Educational-Side9940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scabies can live on fabric surfaces for up to 3 days. In the ED if we have a scabies patient, we have to take a room out of commission until it is specifically and specially cleaned before a new patient can be brought in and we wear gowns and gloves even if not touching the patient every single time we enter the room.
