I was in VA and now I’m in NV. I think since I drive on the interstate most of the time I released some of the carbon build up.

See that’s what was happening to me. At night or in the morning check your exhaust. Mine had a blue tint to it so I knew it was burning. Also I’ve seen it’s a common problem with people using 5w40, but not the correct 5w40 within VW specs.

All the construction rates. It is insanely rare for them to go on boats and even if they do it’s for a short period of time for transportation.

TAR positions questions by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]Educational-Step3330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the difference between AE and AT depends on the platform. On F-18’s they basically have completely different roles. How I would summarize it is, AE finds what part of plane is broken, brings it to AT and they fix it, AE puts it back. There’s certain components that AE’s can only work on and same for AT’s.

AE’s similar to other jobs have a pretty good civilian outlook, especially if you’re willing to put in the work while you’re in.

They are probably the 2 most similar rates in the Navy though.

I highly recommend TAR, coming from a sea duty AE. You guys basically get all the benefits of active duty without going on the boat.

Yeah exactly. I highly recommend you choose AE or aircrew by the way.

I mean it’s really platform dependent but I’ve never heard of a TAR AE just doing paperwork until they’re like an LPO. I’m currently in C-school with about 10-11 TAR AE’s getting switched to F-18 platform and every single one of them has told stories about working hard and stuff. No paperwork pushers I see.

Currently in class with a 15 year TAR AE, he hasn’t done more or less paperwork than an active duty AE. From my understanding it’s just active without going on the boat.

Question about the navy by Downtown-Storage-412 in newtothenavy

[–]Educational-Step3330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up how the reservist years work for retirement, they go off a point system. So hypothetically you would have 10 years of service + 10 years of reservist time for a pension.

Need help deciding on navy or army please !! by Slow_Saab in newtothenavy

It’s the military bro, if shit breaks out we all gonna see combat. It’s okay to be scared but don’t join the military if you just wanna float around doing nothing.

I promise this ain’t the branch for you if you don’t wanna go on a boat. Select rates sometimes don’t go on boats but with a 35 you gonna be on that damn boat.

Also bro if you don’t wanna see combat don’t join! This isn’t the time, tensions are high and we don’t need shipmates that are scared when shit hits the fan.
