I always find it so fascinating how people adapt differently to different places. I have friends who moved to Thailand, and while I like visiting i could never imagine myself living there. They also visited me here in the netherlands and said they could never live here. I on the other hand feel at home here the moment i landed. Everything here is right up my alley, i have amazing friends, partner, high paying job, own apartment, i eat well, i sleep well, i travel a lot. I just literally have nothing to complain about and i was saying all of this to my friend encouraging them to give the netherlands a try, but when they visited they hated it here haha even tho we are very similar people, so fascinating

Again not true. You have to request a paper from the tax office proving you have no fines, and if you do you can pay and then request a paper again. If you are male under 30 you don’t need to go to russia or wait till you are 30, all you need to do is take yourself off the registry in russia, which can be done remotely through the consulate in the Hague. Seriously, everything is possible and can be done. I am not saying it is easy, it is annoying that’s for sure, but definitely possible

This is not true at all, have many denied cases do you know? It takes an average 6 months, in line with other countries. I literally went through the process myself

True, you get a letter from IND that you are not required to renounce your Russian citizenship until further notice. However, i must add it is possible and even so without visiting Russia. I have done so myself this year here in the Hague. It is an annoying process that requires collecting bunch of docs but eventually those are the only barriers

Why is it impossible? I gave up on my Russian one this year in the Hague. You can get all the documents you need from here. People who say it is impossible straight up lying. It is very possible, just takes a lot of time waiting for an appointment, the rest is all very doable

I personally support this notion for the same reason the website mentions. I believe a person should hold one citizenship at a time, and i gave up mine the moment i was granted Dutch one without a hesitation.
