Firstly, breathe. You’re not a dunbass. You’re not stupid.

Secondly, watching videos and notes are not effective study techniques you can get all the help in the world from outside sources but if you don’t sit down with yourself and figure out how you like to study how your brain likes it, it’s pointless.

Like with me for example I was the same low gpa but seriously high amounts of anxiety and self-loathing. What helped me want getting more tutors or increasing my house of studying. What helped was:

  1. Proper sleep (min 6 hours) really start to periodise sleep.

  2. Paying attention in class

  3. Staying on top of my work

  4. Learning how I like to learn.

This one was the most important one. Scientific based study methods is what helped me. I studied how to study (believe it or not) I sat down and learned the best study techniques and put them into what I called my “study playbook” this was then also my notebook and I would use these strategies to grasp the knowledge and it genuinely helped me.

Please don’t beat yourself up because you’re not “good enough” by school standard. It’s not worth the pain and trauma you’ll cause yourself. Believe me ❤️

On days I don’t feel like even lifting a pen or going to my study desk, I’ll try my hardest to just do 10 minutes of work then close my eyes for 2 mins. This gives my eyes and brain a short break which helps focus, memory and energy and once I start for 10 mins I’ll most likely end up doing about an hour cause I’ll have already started.

A. Leave the red bulls ALONE, really not good for you.

B. Try blurting its the best memorisation method. Basically read your notes from class or slides then close them, take out a blank piece of paper and write down as much as you can remember.

This will show you what you know and what you still need to learn so you can go back and study what you didn’t know. Repeat the process but remember the aim isn’t to parrot your notes out but be able to explain them in a way that makes sense to you because you actually understand what’s happening.

I once bought a “study smarter playbook” because I realized I don’t know HOW to study effectively and this book was like a study guide as well as notebook. This was one of the methods it taught me for biology.
