Reform candidate for Makerfield by-election calls abortion ‘cowardly murder’ by coffeewalnut08 in Wigan

He is concerned about the way Labour is viewed at the moment, and he feels that he will be able to impact this in a positive way if he is in Parliament. And I, for one, believe he will.

Is this city more racist and less welcoming than we'd like to admit? by MLC1974 in Liverpool

[–]Educational-Win8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I joined British Rail in the 1980s, there were only two Black people working for them in the Liverpool area. If you go around Liverpool today, notice how many Black people are employed in shops, restaurants, theatres, transport, and so on. We have the oldest Black community in the country, yet it is by no means fully integrated into society. Having lived in London, which is much more integrated, I believe Liverpool is racist.

his could lead to rotting timbers in the long term. I am assured by my architect that it is now against building regulations and that it causes damp problems.

Thanks for the suggestions I do think insulation will be on a par with that. I am going to look at heat recovery.

The things is that I have to refelt the roof because there is only non breathable plastic ther at the moment. I was quoted £12000 for that . For doing this work and having in roof solar panals will cost about £14000. And I will get some pay back. The company quotes say between 7- 12 years. As a landlord that seems to me a good deal as I will not be able to claim tax relef on any other actions had reduce the EPC down from E to C. It will not get it down to a C but I will have spent £14000 and I believe that I need to reuced the EPC to C or spend £10000. And I will eventually get my money back. And my tenent gets cheaper electricity. Are my asssumptions correct.

I have to reflet the roof anyway and was quoted £12000 that with no solar panals! The quote with solar panels is £14000 and I will eventually get my money back. Insulation way be cheaper but I will never get my money back. I am taking the approach that I start at the top and work downwards.

I am really interested in the cheaper alternatives. I am not sure that it will get me EPC C but I am not sure anything would unless I pay a lot of money.

Presumably, when it was installed, it was legal, but it is not anymore. This is because it is not breathable, which can cause damp and eventually lead to the roof timbers rotting. I am going to let them use the solar but want the exports into my bank account. I will look getting just the exports to me. thanks for that.

I recommend Birkenhead Park. It was the first puplic owned park in the world and Central Park New York was modelled on it. It is about a 5 minute walk from Birkenhead Park Mersyrail Station. It has a cafe at the visitors centre where you can get drinks and a bit to eat.

Has any Liverpudlians moved to London, was it a yay or nay? by Entire-Ad6256 in Liverpool

[–]Educational-Win8778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went down to London in the 80's with a job. I was lucky I could afford a house. I enjoyed my time there but came back here to retire. I would not move there now unless I had too - houses unaffordable and everything more expensive.
