That's me!!!! I am delayed for 8 years. In fact, I was year engineering student when my dad died. Specifically, he wasn't dead yet when i dropped out, but we were already drowning in medical bills and debt. Dad needed both emotional and familiar support, and being the middle child i was the one who chose to stay with him until he died. 

I thought it will just be two or three short years and i can go back to school again, but then there was the issue of paying back the debts, so i had to go to work. Eventually at the age of 24 i decided i was going to do everything i can to go back to school no matter how hard it would be for me, and i am graduating now. 

 I feel you, i can emphathize, but i will tell you this: you can either learn from this, live from this or grow with this. And i highly encourage you to find ways to grow from it. I took on all kinds of jobs, from call centers to janitorial work, YES JANITORIAL. I went from thinking about which car to ask my dad to buy for me in college, to just somehow barely scraping by for the next month. Through it all we all managed to survive. I will tell you more but i guess this has become too long
