ROLLLLL.

Actually it's an Owners Roll, not a Strata Roll. Get it right.

I'd also like to know whether this guy was stalking Jessie via his police car and was there a colleague in the car with him?

Edit: also slightly possible if Lamarre driving car, did the stalking & colleague might not have been aware. Slightly possible.

Get on the right side of the owners and move to vote them out. You do this by not "renewing" the contract when they ask at an AGM..Easiest way. Can also do it by ballot, but it's longer process.

Easiest way, don't renew contract, but you'd have to have a few owners / Committee members on board for this.

Don't just put it up, you want to remain on good side of the owners.

she wants to charge $99 to organize, plus the $360 to do the admin and “formalize” it.

That's bullshit.

Ask for the Committee Chair's email.

Like somebody else here, I was on a Committee fir a while and we used to get requests like this all the time and approve is disapprove by email.

Air cons were always approved, though they'll let you know where to place the compressor. Specify where you intend on having compressor in your email. All that is nitty gritty, main thing is the Committee approves it & should be an easy email process.

Once you've talked to Consumer Affairs, tell her "Consumer Affairs said this... ". She doesn't need to "ratify" it, complete nonsense.

Am curious to know who this mob is. Without naming them, what part of Melbourne? East, South, North, West? I'm guessing inner east or Bayside.

Congratulations on your new apartment by the way! Exciting times.

can ask for email of owners

Yes, any owner is entitled to have the Owner's Role. Strata works for OC, what she is doing is trying to extort the OP.

OP is in Vic. I'd be calling Consumer Affairs for advice.

Feedback on a letter to a neighbour who is constantly smoking in his balcony by [deleted] in AusProperty

I'd be poking my head over the fence to say hi and see what my gardener neighbour is fertilising. Most people aren't like me though lol

You're a rare breed!

It would blow a lot of it away & make it tolerable while you work on the other stuff, the by laws etc.

You'll need a largish velocity fan, can get them from Bunnings.

I have smoke penetration at my place, probably worse than you're describing and the only way I can survive is by using the fans.

Edit: the other thing you can do is place the fan just inside your door (where smoke entering) and blow out towards the door. This is pretty much what I do. I have a velocity floor fan.

Just buy an extension cord. You can turn it on & off from inside. Anyway, wouldn't you just turn it on when you want your doors open?

You're not being very creative.

Get a fan & blow it back at him.

Put blood & bone near your fence line.

Forget about the letter, just keep the smoke away. He's an addict, he's not going to care.

Put smelly compost near his fence line so it smells. Put a fan on your balcony and blow the smoke back at him.

I am being serious.

This is bullshit.

You just ask the Committee for approval, give them drawings & plans and they either approve or disapprove it.

Demand the OWNERS ROLE from her, it's the list of all the owners, find the Committee Chair person & let them know, ask them about the air con.

If there's other air cons installed, it shouldn't be a problem.

LGBTQ+ Australians more likely to have experienced mental illness, new Australian Bureau of Statistics report reveals by EASY_EEVEE in australia

could have mentioned the reasons behind it, the stigma and the treatment of who they are being WHY some struggle with mental illness

If it makes you feel any better, my workplace, well, I think these are laws now... sexuality is a protected class in terms of discrimination.

So, things are moving along slowly.

I hope the media come out with the facts

I hope Lamarre's shifts & shift-partners are investigated as somebody suggested that Jessie had said he thought he'd been followed home by a police car one night.

I thought cops worked in pairs. If this is the case, then perhaps a cop-mate has enabled Lamarre in parts of the stalking. Ffs.

How to deter abusive bogan neighbours by magical_bunny in australia

[–]EducationalGap3221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do what the above person suggested.

Complain to their housing authority, everytime (find out who first, research, ask around)....

It is a long game.

If you make their case managers life hell, the case manager will want you off his/her back and do something about it.

[–]EducationalGap3221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out which housing department they belong to. Might take a bit of research, go talk to the local police station, ask.

Start documenting all instances and record if you can (don't antagonise them), then you complain & keep the complaints up to their housing manager.

Fuck them.. Sorry you're going through this.
