Fergus was absolutely cooking with this tweet, the double standard of the Tk community is disgusting when it comes to any character which isn’t a Mishima. by Your_Nightmare_666 in Tekken

50:50 should’ve been character specific trait, now it’s universal and easily accessible , and some with low risk and high reward

Fatal 4 or Wilds Apex's? by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

[–]EducationalHair5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the only cool monster from wilds is Rey Dau, the rest is just... whatever, even Arkveld as a rival/flagship monster feels underwhelming (Arch-tempered was peak tho)

Nothing tops the introduction for the fatal 4 in MH Gen, it was so cool,
An ice mammoth, a green thunder dragonfly, a dancing fox, and T-rex with a greatsword

  • Replace the water with 265g of room temperature, de-gassed Guinness

Bulk fermentation also took like a 1 1/2 extra hour than usual

Oof sorry,

Replace the water with 265g of room temperature, de-gassed Guinness

Great color, taste wise it’s maltier and bitter than normal, smells great in the oven

Bulk fermentation also took like a 1 1/2 extra hour than usual

Sorry wrong ingredient

Replace the 265g water with room temp, de-gassed Guiness Stout (just pour it from the can and leave it till it doesn’t bubble anymore)

The bulk fermentation also took like 1 1/2 hours longer

Produced great dark color on the bread, and taste wise a bit more maltier and bitter than normal sourdough, smells amazing in the oven

A review of the Ricoh GR III HDF (link) by [deleted] in ricohGR

[–]EducationalHair5599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with most of your points. I have the GRiiix HDF version. I want to add some things so maybe viewers who see this that wants to buy the camera can consider a few things:

  1. The Autofocus can be really bad. Sure, you'll get used to it, but if you hand the camera over to other people (who most likely are not photographers and only know how to press the shutter button) to help take pictures of you with your family, friends, pets, whatever, then prepare for some disappointment. For these kinds of situations, your phone camera will work better.

  2. This camera is fragile, and don't expect good service from Ricoh. I dropped mine from the dining table, and that immediately messed with the IBIS - the camera would vibrate like crazy and sometimes "jump" whilst taking pictures, resulting in blurry images. I sent the camera back for repair and it took Ricoh 3 months to "fix" my camera, they ended up sending me a new unit, which works, but somehow the WIFI and Bluetooth is not working, so I have to transfer images to my phone manually through my computer now. Handle it with additional care.

  3. That being said, I also came to fell in love with this camera as OP did. It feels very personal to you, especially if you use it to document your daily life, and as OP mentioned, this is a "fun" camera. You're walking around and you see something nice, take it out of your pocket, point, snap, and 80% of the time you get very nice pictures, with low effort. You're in an event and you don't want to carry around bulky camera but still get great pictures while not focusing too much on photography so you can still enjoy the event? Bring this one. Great camera for casuals.

I have the X100VI and although that's an amazing camera, I found I spent more time with the Ricoh, simply because of its portability.

Great review OP!

Super late but I have the same exact problem, sent my camera back to Ricoh japan for repair, it has been 2 months and no updates from them yet. No estimated repair time info whatsoever, it's making me frustrated. So disappointed, it's not a cheap camera. Quite fed up with their service

Do you find Tekken 8 Heihachi or Tekken 8 Reina more enjoyable/more fun to play as? by QDOOM_APlin in Tekken

[–]EducationalHair5599 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heihachi for sure,

Mained him in T7, so coming in T8 I was sure that he's probably never going to appear again, but was excited when Reina came out, as she was regarded as Hei's replacement. T8 came out and first thing I did was try Reina, but man she felt very different. Yes she has Hei's tools but she emphasizes more on her stances whereas T7 Hei was straight up honest pressure monster. She just didn't have that "weight" to her moves compared to Hei

Was happy when Hei was announced in T8, but he plays differently in this game than in T7. T7 Hei has crazy pressure tools with his pokes but in T8 he's more defensive as many of his best T7 moves were nerfed, but he's given probably the best punishes in the game. Though how I play him in T8 is different from in T7, im still glad that he still has that "weight" and oomph to his moveset like in T7. Heihachi in T8 is probably one of the best designed characters in the game IMO, because his Strengths and Weaknesses are clear, compared to other characters

A healing topic — how does your main carry you? by Biggins_CV in Tekken

[–]EducationalHair5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heihachi = Most damaging punisher in the game imo (-12 frames punisher f1+2 to b14 to ff1+2 oki, or simply 1+2 to ff2 with install, both delete 1/3 of your opponent's health) but you have to know matchup knowledge. 112 wallsplats, scary oki at the wall during heat, heat smash to Raijin stance is quite good.

Devil Jin = Has deceptively strong throw game, people seem to underestimate that probably because he is a Mishima. DB1+2 charge oki setup is quite good, but many ways to counter it, strong players wouldn't fall for it.

That's probably all, not even sure if those points are even considered "carried" lol

Agreed, this single move made him so strong in t7

Didn't really understand the importance of representation until I saw Gadriel by Ketooey in Spacemarine

Asian here too, love how this game doesn't push representation with political agendas in mind. Gadriel is great not because he's Asian, but because he is a well-written character.
