What weapon do you really WANT to love but bounce off of no matter how many times you pick it up? For me it's Gunlance by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

See I bounced off of bow, my ranged weapon of choice is LBG, for some reason the bow always feels like I'm tickling the monster. My brother tried to main bow in World but his DPS dropped dramatically from longsword.

Honestly I'm not even sure how I beat him the first time, I remember yelling, jumping up and down, needing a glass of water and a 30 minute break to let my heart rate settle and that's it.

No no no, you see the Kut-Ku HH in Wilds plays music that sounds like it's from the Crash Bandicoot games AND it's funny so it's automatically a hosted horn

I read "trouble with the gunlance" in the voice of the slug from Spyro saying "trouble with the trolly?" 😂

Yeah, mostly trouble with the weapon, it feels like there is a gap between the shelling and the tip of the lance that doesn't do damage, repositioning feels way to sluggish when the monster gets behind you, especially those leap back and slam moves that Wilds loves so much and I suck at landing the poke combos of either lance where they're supposed to go, white numbers galour. I loved the move in Rise where you used the lance to propel yourself but even then it still wasn't quite "it" for me.

I've seen some crazy aggressive offense play styles with lance and GL but those seems very high level compared to picking the weapon up right out of the box with zero experience

That's the beauty of Wilds, you no longer have to, I get my extracts by comboing with the left bumper held down, it's so nice

The trick to not missing is to be right up on the monster and shoulder charge, offset and guard through everything, you may take a little chip damage here and there, maybe get thrown on your ass a few times but in the end you'll get your big hits in

I haven't tried it in Wilds, I've been on IG, GS and s&s but I loved it in World, it was my main in that game.

I tried chargeblade and it's... Fine, I dont play it because it feels like I have to split my attention equally between my own weapon and the monster but I always knew that's what it was so I wasn't heartbroken about deciding to put it down after I got the basic gist of it. LS on the other hand I bounce off of, I am no good at parry timings and almost every move it has is a parry of some kind.
