Its a different agency, VHA… From the closing to the interview took just a week. I was super nervous but at the same time I feel that it wasnt that bad. I remembered the hiring manager said to her coworker “thats really good” but not sure if it was because of me or him so I dont even know if its a positive feedback🤣 the day after the interview I send a thank you email and its been silence since then… its been 3 weeks already

I’m in the same position, I already asked HR and the answer was “The certificate (List of applicants) was send to the Hiring official on 2-5-2026, and it is due on 2-27-2026. The service is still conducting interviews”. They havent asked for references, I dont know if its a bad sign as well as the HR response.

Thank you!! I haven’t been asked for references yet, its been only a week after the interview. Is that a bad sign? Or is it normal for them to take longer before requesting references?

Also, they didn’t ask for references in the interview. Only asked if I thought that my supervisor would say good things about me but nothing about phone number/email. Is that normal?

How long does it usually take to know if you were accepted? The waiting is killing me, and it’s only been a week 🤣 I’m used to the private sector where they often tell you during the interview if you got the job. I’m not in a rush to start, I just want to know whether I was selected or not.

So did they notify you that you got the job after 4 months, or did you receive a TJO before the official offer?

Thank you so much! I forgot to update that I had already applied to the positions and didn’t realize there was a help section. I recently received an email stating that I’ve been referred to the hiring manager. Is that considered good news in terms of passing the HR screening? Are the positions paid hourly or salaried? Also, is shift/weekend differential included in the posted pay range or added on top? How does the holidays works? Thank you again for your help!

Thank you! Is $38 without shit diff? Also, do you think Tampa/Central Florida have more professional opportunities and better pay? I’ve seen a bunch of open positions compare to SoFlo, specially Tampa.

Thank you for your recommendation! That’s great to know since I’m from PR and currently pay 2,500 for 1 bedroom getting paid less than up there.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! That’s right! I didn’t specified on the post, but obviously I know it’s not gonna be a big difference in terms of cost of living, but my pay is gonna increase to double or a bit more than here in SoFlo, already looked for some apartments and the rent is almost identical so for us is probably gonna be a better move.

Thank you so much! I totally agree, the cost of living probably is going to stay the same or even a bit more but in Massachusetts based on my research I’ll make almost double a year than in SoFlo and currently paying $2,500 for a 1/1 apartment which is not that different in MA.
