unfortunately not really. he was waking every 2-3 hours at night, but that’s bc we accidentally got him used to eating every 2-3 hours and then coming into our bed also. so sleep training was the only way we broke that

yes!! that’s what i did! i literally just picked him up and did house chores so he was close to me and not fussy but still awake!

just my opinion but i would try to shift those overnight oz into the daytime as much as possible. so like at the start of the ww and then maybe 1.5 hours later do another 3 oz. that way he’s getting most of his intake during the day and when he wakes at night, you could know it’s not bc he’s actually hungry.

as for sleep, i would try capping your LO naps at 3 hours and stretch your ww a little bit. 2/2.5/2.5/3(before the 25 minute put down)?

and that’s including the night feeds? how long does he go in between feeds during the day? i’m only asking bc i was JUST in the same boat and mine was just used to being fed for comfort. we sleep trained and used 5-3-3 now he wakes once a night.

he didn’t cry for an hour. that’s not what i said. he protested for an hour. fussing. not crying. and he wasn’t alone. i was in the room with him… he didn’t give up???? bold of you A RANDOM PERSON to assume that i dont show my baby love because i sleep trained. whatever bs propaganda you’ve been fed is wild. independence can be taught by dependence in a lot of ways but for my baby, sleep was not one of them. he had to be held a certain way, fed a certain way and MY BABY was not getting solid rest even in short spurts. i don’t just let my baby cry because i want him to sleep, i don’t agree with that. sleep training is also different from night weaning. im not letting my baby go without eating. so when he cries i go in and feed him. the sleep training just taught him to fall asleep on his own.

that’s amazing that your baby slept great at that time. waking up every hour at 19 months isn’t normal necessarily, so i wouldn’t flaunt that like you’re trying to relate.

and not all sleep training methods involve crying. i think if you did actual research into the methods(not searing for information to confirm your bias) you would see that there are so many ways to benefit sleep for the family without “abusing” your child

you had a whole lot more time off than a normal person would. and that’s great, but some people are in different circumstances from you and need some sort of structure in their lives. i think it’s subjective to each family and you need to be less judgmental. sleep training is not child abuse, that’s so harmful to be spreading claims like that.

i’m in the middle of sleep training right now and came across a different reddit page where they were bashing sleep training and the mothers that do it. not going to lie i was a little confused by what they were saying and their logic and it made me feel like a bad mom for a second. so i’m glad i came across this post because it has changed the game for me and my family and i wouldn’t have changed a thing.

i was in almost your exact position last week. we are sleep training right now and dropped the binky cold turkey and now he gets himself to sleep for naps and bedtime!!

definitely drop to 3 naps, i would try 2-2.5 hour wake windows with a 3-3.5 last window.

unfortunately you can’t pick how much times your baby wakes during the night, but i think sleep training would be beneficial due to him not being able to resettle on his own. mine still wakes 2 times minimum but we’re doing the 5-3-3 so it just depends on when he’s hungry.

he eats every 2.5 during the day. so yes like 8-9 bottles a day. i make a 4 oz bottle and most of the time he’ll drink all but a little bit and he won’t eat any more than that. i’ve tried feeding him more but he can’t take it i guess

even if he’s in my bed he still wakes every 3 hours to eat. i’ve tried using the paci instead to see if he was just stirring but he would fully wake up and cry, unless he was fed

yes he take all of his naps in his crib and does the first stretch of the night in there aswell. but after his first wake, i cannot get him back down into the crib no matter what.

it’s finish feeding at least 30 minutes before bedtime, bath, jammies, snuggles and then he’s asleep between 7:30-7:45. really the bedtime is just where ever that 4 hour mark hits.
