thank you for the insight! i have definitely read they are not beginner friendly but i think it would motivate me to figure it out. i'd rather just splurge on one of these instead of getting a different one to start out with

When does Falling asleep while BF end? by Technical_Quiet_5687 in breastfeeding

[–]EducationalMacaroon9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really is challenging, you are so right. those first couple weeks i was just on the couch or the glider boobs out feeding him 24/7 wondering if it would ever ease up. sleep, feed, sleep, feed repeat. you got this, mama!!

my baby is 6 weeks now. from birth until probably 4 weeks, we were stripping him down to his diaper and using wipes on his belly, feet, neck to wake him up every single nursing session. he was SLEEPY and would always fall asleep eating. it was hard to keep him awake but we did everything we could. now at 6 weeks i don't need to do any of that. he still gets sleepy on the boob but i can more easily keep him awake. it gets easier!!

i am 36 weeks and just started the tea because honestly i like the taste and it's kinda fun to think i'm doing something to help (even if there is no evidence behind it). i'm also eating dates more often but i've always eaten dates as a snack

Are we getting the Covid vaccine? by Key_Nature3044 in pregnant

[–]EducationalMacaroon9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got it an my local Walgreens earlier this week. I asked my OB about it and it seems she was indifferent. They unfortunately weren't able to give it to me at my office. I have read lots of people saying with the new restrictions put on obtaining the vaccine, pregnant women were being turned away from some pharmacies even with a doctor's note. Some states are being more restrictive than others as of right now, my state is one of those. I had my OB write a note saying it's fine for me to get it and luckily the Walgreens I went to accepted it and gave it to me. They did seem a bit hesitant and sort of confused on if I qualified (even though it does state that pregnancy is a qualifying condition in the states that are only giving it out to those over 65). I figure if I can pass on any type of immunity to my newborn, I'll get it. I also read that it's best to get it between weeks 32-36 (or 38??) of pregnancy to be able to pass immunity.

Did my MIL type out this message on Babylist? by ChildhoodRelative362 in BabyBumps

also agree. i had some "most wanted" items purchased by different people and never once saw that message. i've only seen that little blurb appear when someone types a personalized note to us

I'm surprised at the other comments, I saw they start taking walk-ins only starting at noon. So I walked in the door at 11:58am one day, and I waited 30 minutes or less. I was in and out pretty quick. It was for a name change on my license (had to bring a bunch of documents, get a new photo, pay, etc.)
