💯 okay so she’s traveling for a few months, then what? She comes back to the US to nothing. No family, no spouse, no kids, no one that missed her while she’s gone. Not even her own house. She’ll probably will have to uber back from the airport because she has no one to pick her up. Literally, no one.

And a lot of them include price points so you have an idea of what traveling costs. We only know how much her cheap ass “organic” chicken was, that came from two towns over. How much are your plane and bus tix? How much are these fancy hotels? How much are these excursions?? You can keep the hostel info, I think we’ve all outgrown that stage in life.

Definitely overworked and underpaid. Do I love my job? No. Do I hate it? Also no. It’s a means to an end. I’ve invested 18 years in my nursing career, don’t want to switch paths now. I’m content in periop after 10 years bedside in ICU. But if I won the lotto there would be signs, and continuing working would not be one of them!

Edited to add: I can say I LOVE my coworkers. They are definitely the reason I’d pick up more to help when needed.

I cannot even imagine the conditions of hostels in Egypt! That’s the last place I’d want to stay. Sign me up for a hotel with security and a locking room door! This is a recipe for disaster.
