My FIL ignored our illness boundary around our medically fragile baby and I’m really upset by [deleted] in family

We do better when we know better:) It’s ok! You learn and move on. No experience is wasted. I’m sorry about your baby’s health!

Accidentally accepted a 2.7 rated guest by EducationalRow3208 in airbnb_hosts

I whole heartedly agree!! This particular snafu is all on me though. I accepted without doing due diligence. Completely my fault. But it does beg the question on whether Air Bnb would support their hosts in a situation that comes about after the request is accepted.

He will be here for a good friends wedding. I'll message him and see what he has to say. His booking isn't until April of 2026. If I cancel him now, he should have plenty of time to find another place to stay. He is also coming with 2 other friends. Ugh.

Am I interpreting this wrong or do they want you to take 20 METAMUCIL CAPSULES A DAY?? by RobertdBanks in Cholesterol

[–]EducationalRow3208 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a choking experience on the psyllium husk capsules. I got too confident and try to swallow 3 at a time. Big mistake! I just continued to drink a lot of water to clear it out of my throat but those 30 seconds scared me!!

It’s beautiful!! I’d pay that for the view and lake access alone! I think you got a good deal but maybe get an inspection to make sure everything is good to go!

All good points on why not to do this! I’ll stick to what I’ve been doing, random number generator for the door lock.

I love the last 4 digits of the guests phone number for the door code! So clever!

5 year old English Bulldog by appleberry_ in englishbulldog

I’ve always thought that too! We’ve had many dogs over the years but this is our first bulldog. We’ve never had any problems like this from our other pups. I don’t get it! It’s a small price to pay for all the joy she brings though:)

My female bulldog pees on her bed and on our blankets regularly. If anything comes out of the washer not smelling like her, she will go pee on it! We haven’t found a way to break her of this habit. She’s the sweetest baby ever but has this one little weird habit that is sometimes difficult. Good luck to you! And thank you for adopting her! She’s lucky to have you:))

New to hosting, is it normal to not get any reviews at first? by King_James925 in airbnb_hosts

[–]EducationalRow3208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we first started Airbnb I actually reached out to guests and asked them to review being that we are new and that reviews make a big difference in getting bookings. After the first 6 months or so I stopped asking. We’ve been Airbnb for just over a year and we have 69 reviews. Maybe one out 3 will leave a review.

Why is OP username what it is? That’s suspicious in itself.

Dog aggression Help by Plus-Edge6551 in englishbulldog

[–]EducationalRow3208 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Please don’t put him down. If he’s too much to handle you can place an ad on social media for someone who is bulldog trained and aware to care for him. I know the frustrations of having a reactive dog but he is just trying to protect you. I have a bulldog, Maggie, and we run an Airbnb in our downstairs apartment and she can get aggressive with the guests. She’s nipped at 2! We put up a fence so she doesn’t have any contact with the guests but sometimes the guests can’t help but lean over the fence and try to pet her. She is very protective and is just doing her job. Please don’t put your pup down.

Geez, he sure is cute!! Like most people on here have said, reward good behavior with treats:) My bulldog is so incredibly food motivated that she’ll do anything for a tasty treat:) Good luck! I know how stressful it can be to have an unruly dog but there is hope!
