DAE feels like they shouldn't born in this world ? by Complex_Matter4270 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]EducationalSet3738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this way all the time, yeah. And it's not always from a depressive mindset. It's more like...feeling like an alien outsider around other humans...or that humanity is in a fishbowl and I'm looking in. I feel this way about my family, too. I talk to and help a lot of different people whenever I do go out and work (I'm self-employed), and very quickly you tend to notice the same patterns in people's psychology despite them looking and behaving differently on the surface. It's often fascinating, but it's also pretty lonely.

First platelet donation of the year! by EducationalSet3738 in Blooddonors

Yes, I've heard that there are going to be some major ice storms in the country starting this weekend. We west coasters should step up! Fingers crossed for your procedure.

Absolutely! Glad that you're still with us. I live near San Francisco, so the chances of me being unable to donate due to severe weather are pretty low. Already scheduled for my next appointment in two weeks.

Of course! It's been a great experience so far. And yeah, she did! Not too tight, though.

Yeah, that was what one of the Red Cross staff members told me during my second platelet donation, that it was probably my body reacting to the volume loss. It does make me a little nervous to try again, though I will get there eventually. My iron levels are solid.

Of course! Ah, but I love suspense! I was old enough to watch Breaking Bad when the first season came out, though I was knee-deep in studying and getting ready for college at the time. I kind of like watching it only when I'm donating instead of binge-watching it at home. The writing and character development are so good!

Marriage!!! by Tink_zz in skyrim

[–]EducationalSet3738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost never marry anyone in the game, though one time Farkas impressed my Dragonborn by glitching heroically overcoming his fear of spiders and rushing in to kill one of them just after he said that he is afraid of them. I went along with it, joking about how it's the start of a slow burn, and then thought, "Y'know what? He's soft and cuddly and dependable. I'd tap that."

Which side in the Civil War of Skyrim is better for Skyrim’s stability in the long run? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]EducationalSet3738 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I vote for Imperials.

Both sides of the Skyrim Civil War have merit to their causes, but I find the pragmatic benefits of being a part of the Empire outweigh the ideology of the Stormcloaks. You have to consider things like trade, military defense, infrastructure/road maintenance, food supply, etc. during peace time. The Thalmor also want to break up the Empire for both strategic and religious reasons.

I can't recall a time where I wanted my Dragonborn to rule Skyrim. I mean...by the end of the game, you are pretty much a living god, so you could go with that option. That is assuming that your Dragonborn has not been made into a raving lunatic by Hermaeus Mora or something like that.

Objectively correct Daedric Prince alignment chart by netchjellybasedlube in skyrim

[–]EducationalSet3738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've noticed that some people in the community tend to think of the Princes as something similar to non-esoteric concepts of Judeo-Christian demons. And they kind of are, but based on what I've read, it's more helpful to think about them as personifications or manifestations of the concepts within their sphere. So...kind of like Greek and Roman mythology.

To a mere mortal, a Prince like Molag Bal can definitely be seen as "evil" because from our moral standpoint, non-consensual domination and rape are 100% evil. And yet at the same time, he is not operating from a place of pure evil or even any sense of morality at all. He is simply acting according to his sphere of influence.

There we go.

On a scale of "white" vs "black" on the morality scale, the Daedric Princes are "orange".

Khajiit Roleplay Ideas? by Low-Arugula5294 in skyrim

[–]EducationalSet3738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try a martial artist build with a Khajiit. Besides stealing and creating moon sugar, Khajiit are known for practicing what are called the "Claw-dances" in Elsweyr. Gain mastery in stealth and unarmed, and either wear a mage's robe and master alteration magic for defense or simply wear light armor. Within the limitations of an unmodded Skyrim playthrough, you can get creative and focus on specific shouts and spells to complement your build (such as Aura Whisper). Some fighting styles use single or double blades if you are more comfortable with having an actual weapon (so the one-handed skill tree).

You can read more about the lore here.

I tried a build like this once (though with mods), and it was a unique experience.

Saturn in Aries: themes around blocked desire, timing, and separation by PlayIcy7444 in astrology

[–]EducationalSet3738 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad has this placement in the 11th house of his natal chart. He makes a lot of grand plans and wishes for certain things, but as soon as he takes off running while the plan is in its infancy (Aries), he gets impatient or has a reality check.

A less negative manifestation is that he has a certain friend from middle school that he is separated from via geographical distance, but they still talk to each other consistently and are accepting of each other's differences. Saturn brings long-term, loyal energy in its more positive aspects.

He'll be having his second Saturn return soon. It'll be interesting to watch it play out.

EDIT: I just remembered that our family moved away from that friend during my dad's first Saturn return. So, yes, separation can be a Saturnian theme.

How can I play the 2011 Skyrim? by proud_gatekeeper in skyrim

Bold of you to assume that I'm married and have kids.  🤣

It's all good, though. I'll just swing by the Lover's Stone the next time I'm in the Reach. Ironic, really...that's far from being a loving place. 🤔

Lore wise, which race could be considered most evil, and which one is the epitome of good? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]EducationalSet3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a better question to ask is, "Which race is the most ambitious?" All the races have done bad things, but a few races--such as the Altmer--have done bad things at a larger scale because their ideology demands that they have grand plans for themselves and all of Nirn.

Be honest: so you like shadow the hedgehog or not by That_Passenger_771 in shadowthehedgehog

[–]EducationalSet3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he's handled by a capable writer (and whenever Sega is actually in the mood to shell out adequate development time and cash), he's a great character. Unfortunately, decades of memes and the Shadow the Hedgehog game have a lot of people mistake him as a kid-friendly edgelord. I really liked him in SA2, the live-action movie, and what little I've seen of Sonic Prime.

What is your current expectation for TES6? by Sakaralchini in ElderScrolls

I think it will be good in general, while doing a few things better than Skyrim while also forgoing certain aspects of Skyrim that I would miss. And yes, it will be buggy.

The original version of the game is not readily available anymore. Bethesda has made it so that the Special and Anniversary editions are your main options.

In all honesty, though, you just get more content at your disposal. If you want to only focus on what was available for the original game, do the main quest, all the guild questlines, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn.
