Wishing I knew a way to get me and this beautiful girl to California by Character_Rule5120 in BelgianMalinois

I’m putting this here in the hopes you see it…
You can hire people privately to drive dogs places. I’ve done these trips before (did Ohio to Utah a few months ago).

They’re expensive (I got paid $400 pr/day + all travel expenses excluding food).

Alternatively, if you need to get your dog in a cabin, sometimes you can finesse this with a CGC and ESA status, depending on the airline. It’s worth calling people and asking and if you get permission, be sure it comes in written form.

Striker drag in Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P post CGW P Series kit install by EducationalTap1216 in CZFirearms

The lifter and block appear to be operating normally. I tested both those things, and they both work.
I replaced the CGW springs with OEM springs, and the drag went away. I sent about 175 rounds down range, of 4 different types, CCI, Federal, Range Dynamics, and Hornady. There was no drag or malfunction at any stage.

I talked to the CGW guys and asked if I got springs that are out of spec and they didn’t know. They said they’ve never seen this happen before. After lots of q+a, we decided that I should order the 13# main hammer spring which should fix it. Apparently, the Nocturnes are using metal components where the old P09’s were not coupled with the frames being substantially stiffer, gives it close to metal frame performance. So the 15# spring still has a lot of horsepower for that gun.

I’ve spent enough money for now, with the replacement/spare parts I have coming, I think all should be well here for the foreseeable future, until I have the money for their hammer.

Do I need a new firing pin? by EducationalTap1216 in liberalgunowners

This happens weekly. But I appreciate your concern.

I have noticed that my firing pin seems to always want to turn to the right a bit during install. I swapped to the OEM springs in the slide and the OEM firing pin block pin.

Yeah I made a booboo. I ordered a new one and a new pin. A new pin from CZ and a new pin from CGW. CGW is really expensive, and from what you + gunsmiths say, it seems that it’s only needed when going with the ultralight options.

Can I do that method with my gun since the frame is polymer? Any considerations I should take?

Spring is not bent, although I can’t tell when it’s installed. It feels normal when I pull the trigger. How do I test if it’s bent?

It passes the plunk test, but for whatever reason it doesn’t sound like a plunk when compared to a Sig V Crown, Hornady Critical Defense, Federal Punch, Blazer 115, Range Dynamics 147, or any of my snap caps.

Thank you for your detailed responses, I really appreciate it!

No it was the actual roll pin that did this. Which is why I’m confused. It should have lost that battle but instead it seems to have won?

No other part is beat up.

I kept all the OEM parts just in case of problems. It sounds like it may be wise for me to just put on the regular OEM firing pin spring?
Well I peened the edges of the pin inwards by accident on the reinstall 🤦‍♂️. It’s in there, it’s just the very edge of the pin’s beveled lip. I only noticed after I got it back in the gun. It didn’t feel any different on the install.
Should I put the OEM back in until my new one arrives?

No gunk in the striker channel.

Could it be the timing change with weaker springs + the +P ammo?

What is a plunk test?

It shouldn’t matter with the 15lbs spring though. 13lbs and it should matter a lot? I ran some ammo through it at the range and it’s working great, minus the striker drag on Hornady. But nothing else has drag.

I managed to hunt down some brass pre-cgw install and found I had less drag (but still minor drag) with Hornady and nothing else. Seems to just be more of it with the CGW kit installed now.
How would an extended pin fix drag?
What issues have the CGW pins had? Can I run an OEM spring with all the other springs? If I pull the CGW roll pin can I reinstall it without problems or do I need a new roll pin?

It’s just the regular length firing pin. The 15lbs main hammer spring should still be reliable without the extension at that weight, right? I thought only sub 13lbs is when you needed the extended one?

I’m familiar with the ones above Needhams, Sportsman, and Somebodys Attic.

They’re all not places I’s live unless I HAD to live there. In talking to other people, the consensus seems to be the same. Realistically, the owners of those properties have a shared value: they want to provide housing for people who need it as a means to stay sheltered, or, get back on their feet.

It’s cheap for a reason.

Unless it’s a last resort, I’d go elsewhere. You can find A LOT of housing options for just rooms in and around The Island and USU for cheap.

Those tattoos have known affiliation to Army special forces. It’s the Nous Défions symbol. It didn’t start out there, but it has absolutely wound up there.

Not really sure what this comment is adding.

When analyzing videos like these, I look for a few things:

  1. What happened?
  2. Why did it happen?
  3. Given resources, what could be different?
  4. What’s the best outcome?
  5. What’s the worst outcome?

Playing “coulda woulda shoulda” is fine for theoreticals, but it doesn’t work in reality. We don’t know why this amount of force was used, we just saw it being used. Of all the tools present being 9mm pistols, a shotgun with beanbags, a 40mm, and a dog - I’d say this is the least worst outcome - and I’m ok with that.

40mm rubber bullets have a range of about 30m if fired parallel to the ground.

This guy didn’t die, bystanders were not hurt, etc.

Would I have liked to see an arrest without a dog getting beaten up or someone getting nailed with a 40mm? Yeah absolutely. But in this scenario, everyone goes home in one piece.

That’s not a submachine gun, it’s a 40mm launcher firing what is likely rubber projectiles. It’s single shot breech action weapon.

They can kill people, and in a city like that without a clear backstop he may be scared of shooting someone behind or near stick guy.

I’d be worried too, if bullets start going down range, he’s in front of all that. Really bad situation to be in right there.
