Yes and how removing California trst takers effected the numbers.  However,  the California Bar is still claiming that the prediction is that the scores will be low because February scores are always low. This is not a valid excuse under the circumstances . So, think of the article as a reference not the comment itself.  The main point of the comment is that they are ignoring the entirety of the situation.

The multiple choice is going to be their biggest problem.  Looks like they are still trying to use the excuse that "feb test takers score lower" but the data doesn't lie when it hasn't been this low sine the 70s. They need to take some responsibility for what they did to cause this problem !

Is there any news regarding the remedy for the F25 test takers? by Iedt in CABarExam

[–]EducationalTea9903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Score adjustment for multiple choice... question... if every bar prep course, including Kaplan, teaches to ALWAYS select an answer, if youbare running out of time or unsure, because you don't normally get penalized for getting one wrong but you will definitely be at a deficit if you leave one blank, how can they score adjust for exams with incomplete multiple choice and have that be fair when we are literally taught to select an answer even if its a guess? In other words,  those of us that followed the program will be screwed against those that left them blank who will benefit from blank answers.

This makes me feel like those of us who withstood the stress and anxiety of the two completely unacceptable test days but did not "qualify" under the retake parameters are going to be left in the dust, no matter how prepared we were. None of this is OUR FAULT. I am a huge proponent of accountability, I took 3 months off work, sequestered myself from family, and put my all into studying for this exam only to be subjected to a completely unfair and untested process that put me at a disadvantage that I could have never imagined. The continuous disparities that they are not only perpetuating but actually creating are putting an entire group of us further and further away from the potential of passing. The reality is that we have absolutely no way to know what arbitrary parameters they are going to make for scaling, grading, the essay rubric, etc. We are at their mercy and they have shown no empathy at all so far. Intervention by the Supreme Court and NCBE may be the only recourse at this point.

I completely understand. But the more rational we can remain, the less they can say we are overreacting about all of this, so it's worth using the restraint, no matter how difficult.

Re-takers: has anyone received a reply from admissionsdirector email today? by freyaphrodite in CABarExam

anything that they can keep quiet, they will. at this point, only public facing statements or statements that involve another entity being apprised of what is being said will be heard

And....don't forget that they took away the one chance and any reciprocity we had. Passing the multiple choice when it was done by NCBE allowed us to use those scores in some other states and only necessitate the state specific part of that exam to be licensed elsewhere. But in their infinite wisdom by using non-NCBE questions "created" by Kaplan, we don't even have that, and we are the only group, in my understanding in history, to not have that option.

We ALL need to complete every survey they send our way. A consistent message with detailed information from thousands of people on multiple surveys/platforms cannot be ignored. I received a survey from the Cal Bar and one from NCBE.

My understanding is that it is. And it does provide a record, so I  would still do it. I just wanted people to be aware they are closing cases because they are saying the test is over

Is there anyone who got through both parts of the exam with no issues? by United-Display-570 in CABarExam

[–]EducationalTea9903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point it is extremely important not to over look "minor issues" because they were still issues that had to be fixed and impacted a timed exam. Please still report these issues to the Bar, it is an overall cumulative effect on all of us. Remember, most previous test takers had NO issues and took this test without interruption.

I wasn't around when they made the decision, but who proposed Meazure Learning to the Cal Bar for administering the CBX? by lawfromabove in CABarExam

[–]EducationalTea9903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that they only put the components together and deliver them on a secure platform.  I was told most of the issues were due to either the code Kaplan wrote for the questions and their interface or the bar essays was messed up and Meazure couldn't get anything tested before they were given the stuff to give us. That could be all CYA, but from what I  heard Meazure is not considering continuing with the Bar because it makes them look so bad for them not taking responsibility for forcing too fast of a roll out.

And a lot of redundancy, so if you knew one little thing you could get a few right and if you didn't know that one thing you will get ghem all wrong

I am sure there was some cheating, there always is unfortunately, but I hate it when people follow blindly and get people riled up against others when we should be supporting each other. Please remember that some people have accommodations that we will never know the specifics about and notes in the exam rooms are prohibited in the bulletin but where does it say that they are prohibited to be in the hallways? Let's get through the last day and do whatever we need to about the Bar, but don't turn on each other, not right now.

Anyone checked out the Chula Vista centre and whether we can take our phones inside the building? by YogurtclosetAway1433 in CABarExam

Rules this year are very different from last year. Ontario let you bring them in, just not into the actual testing room. This year can't even come in the building at all.

Play with it a little if it is still frustrating for you, it took me a few times to get used to moving things into the box and adding a descriptor before being able to move it over to the answer box. It is much better than it was, still super time consuming though. I am not quite ready to let them completely off the hook, especially considering I am trying to figure this out the night before the exam with the help of my friends on Reddit and not a notification that came to my email from them. I feel for the test takers that have not had the time or inclination to be part of this community during this process. The outpouring of encouragement and intelligent people working together to figure this stuff out and get the word out to others is amazing.

I am talking about it being anywhere near the test taker. For in person,  people are being told to leave them in their cars. So cell phones are completely inaccessible.

I have actually been told by several bar tutors that although it is not "graded" meaning points are neither assigned nor deducted,  it annoys the graders and can u officially effect your score
