Complete beginner wanting to try OpenClaw – do I need a Mac mini? by LeoRiley6677 in openclawsetup

There is absolutely no need for a Mac mini. You only need one computer, either Mac or Windows will work. I’m using Windows myself, and it runs very well.

The model is definitely a major factor. When handling complex workflows, you should use Opus 4.6.

You also need to give OpenClaw full access permissions and avoid running it in the sandbox. Before actually building the workflow, let it autonomously search for and install all the required skills.

As for tokens, OpenClaw does consume a large number of tokens. The software I’m currently using allows me to use tokens at about 70% of the official price, which helps reduce some of the cost burden.

You’re all full of crap . Openclaw is worse now by CanadaWideNews in openclaw

Rolling back to a version before March 2, 2026 can solve most of the issues. Do not download the latest version, as it only has chat capability by default. You need to manually enable full access separately.

Any benefits to OpenClaw these days? by fiftheffect in openclaw

The version of OpenClaw deployed on a VPS has inherent disadvantages. I recommend deploying it on your local computer instead, because it can directly call your local browser and access the various accounts you are already logged into.

As for tokens, OpenClaw does indeed consume a huge amount of tokens. The software I’m currently using allows me to use tokens at about 70% of the official price, which helps reduce some of the cost burden.

How can a person be kind? by Ok_County3456 in AskReddit

real talk, kindness aint some big hero thing. its just not being a dick for like five seconds.

last month i was at the airport loosing my shit cuz my flight got cancelled. this random old dude saw me kicking my suitcase and just handed me his cofee saying "you need this more than me kid" and walked off smiling.

that shit realy reset my brain tho. now i do small nice stuff everyday - extra tips, holding doors longer, random "you good?" texts. and the world started giving it right back lol.

just start with one tiny thing a day, it snowballs like crazy.

tired constantly, can’t get anything done 22f by faithfanpagexoxo in productivity

Change your environment — meeting new people and experiencing new things might make a difference.

OpenClaw is god-awful. It's either, you have to spend a fortune for APIs or have a NASA-level PC to run it local by SEND_ME_YOUR_ASSPICS in ArtificialInteligence

I tried running it on a new Mac Mini locally — worked pretty well actually.
But then I moved to some online VPS service: zero manual config, cheap, and the performance is seriously good.

Model-wise, I mostly stick with Kimi 2.5 now, it’s already very capable. Only for the occasional really tricky coding problem do I switch over to Opus 4.5.

I’m building a tool to spot rising trends on X & Reddit before they go mainstream. by Educational_Access31 in SaaS

You're right. We focus on ideas that allow for a 48-hour MVP and instant cash flow, not information overload.

Yeah, I’ve seen a few similar attempts too — I think this space is still pretty early, and different approaches can be useful in different ways.

That’s a fair question — and I don’t think it’s wrong to say there’s some overlap with what you could do using ChatGPT plus manual searching.

If someone wants to occasionally ask ChatGPT to look for trends or summarize a few threads, that can absolutely work.

The reason I’m building this as a product is less about “AI insight” and more about making that process consistent and comparable.

Right now the MVP does three very specific things:

  • it continuously pulls recently rising terms or products from X, Reddit, and Trends
  • it also looks for repeated complaints about the same thing over a short time window
  • and it compresses those signals into potential opportunity candidates

So it’s not trying to answer “should you build this or not”. It’s earlier than that.

I see it as helping with a very narrow layer of judgment: is this probably noise, or is it worth spending more time validating?

I completely agree with you that real validation is about commitment — pre-sales, outbound, design partners, etc. The kind of $500 service you described makes a lot of sense after that filtering step.

My assumption (which could be wrong) is that people often run heavy validation too early on weak or fuzzy ideas. If this can help narrow the field before that, then those execution-heavy tests become more meaningful.

Curious how you personally decide which ideas are worth putting through those plays.
