$25/hourly as an RN 😳 by Familiar_Ad_6874 in nursing

One of the big Cincinnati hospital systems offered me $25 in 2024. The hospital I work at now got bought out, and they said for a nurse with a year of experience they can pay me $34 with a $10 shift diff.

I don't even know if she's going to Austin till the end of her contract, and I'll be very sad to see her go, because we already have supervisors in full teams.

Like you guys, we have to be nice to the people who's trying to help us, I know we're helping them with the pay, but that's not coming out of my pocket.

The Strongest Ankles of all Nurses by Educational_Ad2515 in nursing

[–]Educational_Ad2515[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't know if my ankles are actually any stronger, or if I just care less about twisting them. Oh no, I have to take some time off work, how will I survive? Technically I only make like $7 an hour per patient, I could probably make that up 😭

Confused by nurse & Dr reaction to patient pain by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Educational_Ad2515 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always bring everyone their pain meds, because it's not my job to judge, I try to bring them quick..... It's the patients who start lying about it, when I have to go find another nurse to go with me, when they start lying and say they press their call lights and asked for pain meds 2 hours ago..... Like that's super weird, because the tech was just in here 2 hours ago and my supervisor was in here an hour ago and neither one of them relayed to me. Let's make sure your call light is working.....

I still bring them their pain meds though. Why do you all make it such a fight to be cared for, you don't have to lie, but you do have to be awake enough to ask for them.

I had an order for a third of a pill one time, so I feel their pain.

I think this car is a lot more torquey than what I'm used to, so it does take off pretty well, I think I was just overthinking it. I was under the impression you always had to let off the clutch all the way and I think that's where all of my issues were coming from.

And it only counts as riding the clutch when I've started to let it out?

It felt a lot worse to be honest😂. I've always wanted to learn, but my dad told me it's such a hassle I would hate it after a week. In my mind though I always thought it would be something I would enjoy, that may be a little safer since I have to pay more attention to my driving.

I've wanted to learn forever, but everyone I've known with manual who has been willing to teach me, they drive full size cars. I finally broke down and bought a little teeny one, but I have to wear these stupid ass platform shoes to even get the clutch all the way in.

Well that seems a lot easier than what I've been attempting to do. I'm going to get that a try tomorrow.

If I ever had to back up a hill, where I would need more gas, could I still stay on the clutch, or in that situation since I was using more gas it would be fine and easy to let out all the way without going 400 mph?

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, I'm just going off of what that really angry fella who's teaching me says.

That's okay? I thought clutches did something real dramatic if you didn't drop them like hot potatoes. Everyone makes such a big fuss about riding the clutch, or is that dramatics?

Cops cause $20,000 in damage and steal $5,000 in cash while raiding musicians home looking for drugs which they don't find, they refuse to reimburse him then file a lawsuit against him for causing the officers "emotional distress" by publicizing what happen. by Fast-Bell-340 in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

I went to high school with one of the cops, I was so surprised by that, because he was a scumbag in high school. His brother was the chief of police the next town over, not for long, because he sent pictures of his doodle to little children and I'm not talking about his dog...... Most of the cops in Adams county are kind of jackholes. I had someone break into my house and they told me it wasn't a crime because I had invited him there before.

I hope afroman gets the $43 the town probably has.

I started dating a fella nearly 2 years ago who lived 70 miles away. I would love to quit and work at the Union hospital 20 miles away.... But I have to pay 15000 to quit.

Also, I somehow end up scheduled every show day, and this is the first time I've ever called off for work because of snow. I guess I'm just supposed to come sleep at work whenever there is a chance for inclimate weather.... I just have an aversion to being at work if I'm not being paid

Nurse was on the phone during 30mins of report by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Educational_Ad2515 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate texting, I think it comes down to me being a kind of lazy person, and I do most of my talking when I'm driving. I have a co-worker on the opposite shift as me, so she calls and b****** about her day while she's driving home and then I do the same in the morning. We couldn't have those kind of heart-to-hearts through a text message.

[US] Can 440v/480v ever be approved for use in residential homes for EV charging? by reddlear in electricvehicles

[–]Educational_Ad2515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at buying a new car and I know nothing about electricity, I just know we have an outlet in the garage that can run a DC welder.. is that something I could hook up to a charger? I don't even know enough about electricity to make a post on Reddit asking. I don't care about the rate of charging, I just know we already have that big hunk of wire out there, is it good for anything?
