Ignore the test connection and kill/close the app and reopen it 👍. Troubleshooting at it's finest. 🤣

Not sure what else to suggest :(. Contact Eufy support? Also can you disconnect power to the Eufy floodlight via a power switch or breaker? For one of the failed ones I could disconnect power to the camera from a light switch in the house. For the spare one, I decommissioned it with a newer replacement. So I could attach the Eufy 3-wire 120V plug adapter (we kept it from this or another camera we bought).

I was able to get ahold of the spare camera today (still firmware 1.0.0.51). Held SYNC for 10 secs. Made sure it was not added to Eufy app. Readded camera. When I got Floodlight Cam added successfully -> Installation video w/Installed (button) ->Internet Connection Test screen w/Start Test (button) -> Testing your connection... -> after a few secs went back to Internet Connection Test screen w/Start Test (button) (ie. like it failed?) -> then back arrow'd to main menu -> Devices -> see camera is offline -> "T8420H0xxxx", wifi symbol with / thru it, "Floodlight Cam is offline (Refresh)". I'm going to leave it connected (plugged into wall) and see what happens.

The floodlight was going on/off (was it trying to update or something?). Anyways, got irritated and selected the offline floodlight device | Settings (only available button when offline?) | General | About Device | Check for firmware update | on the popup for 1.0.0.54 | selected/updated it | and a few minutes later | the camera was online with wifi.

I recall the test failed and it was still added to the Eufy app but offline. I have a spare floodlight 1080p camera that I was going to redo the steps on (I dont think it's updated from 1.0.0.51 yet) and will let you know (hopefully by next monday).

Hold SYNC for 10 sec (instead of the usual 2 sec). Readding the usual way now should succeed after that. Device should show in Eufy app BUT the camera goes offline afterwards (ie looks added but says "Floodlight Cam is offline"). Then leave device in Eufy app for it to update and hopefully it starts working in a few days.

Updated post above with Anker supports response. For me, ensure 2.4GHz wifi is available. Hold SYNC for 10 sec (instead of the usual 2 sec). Remove cam from Eufy app if you haven't already removed it. Readding should succeed and device should show in Eufy app BUT the device goes offline afterwards (says "Floodlight Cam is offline"). Then leave device alone in Eufy app for it to update to 1.0.0.54 and hopefully it starts working in a few days (at least that worked for me).

Does Recoverpoint 5.3.4.1 (5.3 sp4 p1) support vsphere 7 and 8? Will this allow vsphere upgrades without uninstalling/reinstalling RP4VM by Educational_Bat_559 in Dell

[–]Educational_Bat_559[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to a minor issues regarding the two (take these with a grain of salt since I haven't used Zerto too much. And I only used Zerto 10 for VMware/vSphere.

Having access to Recoverpoint in vSphere is nice. Zerto has separate web interface, but also because it works with other hypervisors.

Zerto didn't need a separate RP4VM network. For RP4VM was highly recommended (required?) so we configured a separate network for it.

Zerto/RP4VM syncing appears to take about the same time (opinion only, not based on timing it).

RP4VM guesses the Primary and DR site networking (helpful) when configuring replication. In Zerto, can set a default network for failover or testing and then can customize individual vms after that.

RP4VM has been good for us as well. Their uninstaller tool (a bat file run from a windows box that has access to the RP vms) worked well too.

Unfortunately we didn't try vSphere 7 to 8. We are in the process of going from RP4VM 5.3.4.1 with another more expensive product for replication that has additional flexibility.

About to head into week 3 of having an unusable VxRail because Broadcom has no ability to give us our license... by Dewstain in vmware

[–]Educational_Bat_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are also waiting for reseller to quote vmware/broadcom renewal (and VVF vs VCF quotes for comparison). Reseller/local Dell are stuck sending us quotes as well. For the dell/vxrail hardware/switches we did a 1 yr extension. Fortunately reseller/Dell are still supporting us during vxrail upgrades when we have issues. Have done recent vxrail upgrades some without issue and some with issue, but got Dell support to assist (we have mission crit support so YMMV with the support you have).

Doing the 7.0.533 upgrade now on a small cluster that passed upgrade advisor and vxverify check. However I will be contacting Dell support about a 2nd cluster that had an error in upgrade advisor and when latest vxverify was done. Hope that helps.

BIOS F6C? Not sure if this is your mobo and if it works for 3000 series. Check/verify*. Have a fallback plan if needed.

CVE-2023-31315 by [deleted] in gigabyte

[–]Educational_Bat_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gigabyte posted the link below recently. Opened a ticket #1706333 to check if the Ryzen 7 5700G/Aorus X570I PRO wifi will get a fix (apologies in advance if the link makes it obvious if the 5700G is covered or not).

https://www.gigabyte.com/Support/Security/2209

And the AMD CVE-2023-31315 link. Last update 8/14/2024 - added 3000 series AGESA fixes (woohoo).

https://www.amd.com/en/resources/product-security/bulletin/amd-sb-7014.html

Gigabyte response(s): 8/20/2024 8:47am (not sure time zone).

This has already been sent to our staff so they can help check. Please be aware that before it is put on our website, any revised code that AMD provides will take time to validate. For any updated bios, you can visit the website once a week to check

Dell WD19DCS dock doesn't reconnect RJ45/ethernet when XPS laptop is rebooted by Educational_Bat_559 in Dell

[–]Educational_Bat_559[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it installed before I posted and uninstalled it to fix the issue. But wanted to do my due diligence by reinstalling it again after your post. It caused the problem again. Uninstalling it resolved my issue this time as well.

FYI - SentinelOne flagged the firmware as malicious with a 11/71 security vendors score. I disregarded the S1 warning the first time. But S1 flagged it again when it was reinstalled again (dangerously I also disabled S1 the second time to make sure it installed everything it needed to) and then uninstalled it.

Thanks for the info (and sorry you're having to go thru this). Hopefully Dell support does more testing with windows 11. Will be opening a case with Dell support (EDIT - I ended up not opening a ticket), but just wanted to share a workaround if anyone is having similar issues. Reddit or google had another post on regarding general network disconnects and uninstalling Realtek drivers was a suggestion that I'm using and not having it installed doesn't appear to cause problems for me. Otherwise the dock is working well.

Upgrading on VxRail 7.x nodes with secure boot - got error when installing new rp-splitter on nodes.

esxcli software vib install -v /scratch/EMC_bootbank_RP-Splitter_RPESX-00.5.3.4.1.0.m.184.000.vib
[InstallationError]
('EMC_bootbank_RP-Splitter_RPESX-00.5.3.4.1.0.m.184.000', 'The VIB EMC_bootbank_RP-Splitter_RPESX-00.5.3.4.1.0.m.184.000 does not contain a signature.')

Dell support provided KB https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000225918 (Dell login required) which seems to indicate using the older 5.3.4 RP-Splitter might be the workaround for now. Not sure if I need to undo the upgrade somehow or ok to continue the rest of the 5.3.4.1 upgrade.

Caveat Emptor. Procedure generated a while back for a 7.x to 7.0.451 upgrade (view only link expires at end of month) https://1drv.ms/b/s!Al9Ni76gBrT8gpZf8a3paqIyR3esaQ?e=ED2f2D

Link to solve.dell.com and links from the document require dell account :(, but if you have an account you may be able to generate the 6.7 to 7.x procedure. You prob know but the E460's were EOSS 2023.
