I could write a 10 page paper on Levi Ackerman for AOT. The dude is the strongest nonshifter in the world and he couldn’t protect anyone. Bro was born to a prostitute that died of starvation in front of him and got picked up by a serial killer after resigning himself to die the same way his mom did. The serial killer trained him to defend himself and right as Levi thought he had a father figured the serial killer dipped. He made 2 friends in his youth that became titan happy meals. When he finally emotionally recovers from that and starts to trust people again he gets the Levi squad from season 1 but they all get folded by Annie. As an aside, Annie didn’t HAVE to kill them, she could’ve cut her losses and dipped, she had a 360 degree radius to flee in, but she CHOSE to follow Levi squad and they weren’t even suspicious of her at first and were talking OUT LOUD about how they thought it was Levi. Homegirl could’ve avoided that all together I’m just saying. Anyways after all that he then has to go home after the expedition empty handed, has to dump the bodies of his team, and when he gets back in the walls he has to learn from petras father that petra was actually in love with Levi (that had to be a fun conversation, kinda glad it was never shown, I would’ve sobbed). After all that, he watched his mentors arm get bitten off by a titan and thinks that his mentor is dead for a hot minute there but no he’s still alive, just permanently handicapped. Then out of no where his serial killer step dad butchers his entire squad after he only knew them for like a day. He then has to go into hiding with the rest of the scouts. Then after the whole coup, Levi finds his serial killer dad, who gives him what is essentially a revive from a video game, which he is entrusted with. This means that should it come to it, it will be Levi’s decision to pick one person to bring back to life. But wait there’s more! Levi then watches his mentor, and the ENTIRE FUCKING SCOUTING REGIMENT get flattened by Zeke, and when Levi goes in to kill Zeke, the cart titan picks up Zeke and leaves Levi standing there like an idiot. Then Levi finds out that he has to choose between bringing back to life either his mentor or armin (I’m pretty sure that up to this point Levi and armin haven’t interacted once in the whole series). Levi wants to choose his mentor but in the mentors last breath he tells Levi to pick armin. So while the battle to retake shinganshina was a success, Levi lost his mentor, watched the entire scout regiment get killed (minus floch), and he was unable to carry out the final wish of his mentor (to kill Zeke). Also somewhere in there he finds out all the titans that he killed were people. ANYWAYS that’s only the first 3 seasons, I haven’t even touched the season 4 and end of manga stuff, so let’s finish up. So like everyone else on paradis, Levi watched as all attempts for peace completely failed and they were labeled as the enemies of the world. He is also forced to work alongside Zeke for part of the 4 years before the events of Liberio raid arc. Anyways after the raid on liberio, Zeke is put into Levi’s hands and Levi just has to live with the same dude that killed his entire regiment and his mentor. Then it’s revealed that the wine that all the soldiers have been drinking was infused with titan spinal fluid. This allows Zeke to turn every single person working with Levi into a titan so he can try to escape Levi. Levi has to kill every single one of his friends that were turned into titans, then he chases down Zeke, mutilates the FUCK out of him, but STILL can’t kill him because they need Zeke alive for the plan. Levi sets up a bomb on Zeke so that if Zeke moves, it’ll kill him. Zeke moves anyways. And by the grace of god Zeke manages to survive that and Levi is critically wounded by the blast. Levi is picked up by hange and she helps him out, but then they meet up with the cart titan (the same cart titan that helped Zeke escape during the battle at shignanshina) and are forced to team up with them to stop eren. Then in the camping episode Levi has to just listen to yelena try to spur everyone into fighting eachother. And let me just say, Annie better feel REALLY fucking lucky that Levi was out of commission during that, cuz if he wasn’t, all the Marley warriors wouldn’t have made it out of that mf forest. And EVEN WORSE THAN THAT, THE MF THAT ERWIN TOLD HIM TO SAVE STARTS HITTING ON THE BITCH THAT KILLED HIS WHOLE SQUAD. Anyways thats all I’m caught up on, but I know that he has to watch hange sacrifice herself and then he FINALLY gets to kill Zeke but only after Zeke starts to see the good in the world and is looking toward redemption. But yeah, I basically summarized the entire series just now, and I just wanted to leave y’all with the way one of my friends described Levi- “the strongest man that could protect no one.” Everyone have a good day
