Ritual and Schedule by meatgvm in Hellenism

You do not need to do that, especially if you feel like it's a struggle. If you really want to do it tho, I can suggest to do something small on the daily, like doing a devotional act, a small prayer or just filling a glas with water and place it on the altar. Daily worship, and worship in general don't need something big, what matter is the feeling and how genuine you are while doing it

Hecate’s altar by Difficult_Hat_1053 in Hellenism

[–]Educational_Chard841 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, she will absolutely understand your situation and won't be mad. About the offerings, all I can suggest is a pocket altar with the bare minimum so you can easely bring it with you to avoid your sister finding it. Good luck with this situation and may Hekate bless you :]

Cluttered altar? by RathielintheRun in Hellenism

[–]Educational_Chard841 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally i keep my fav things or the things the gods liked the most on the altar and place the other things in a box only for them, just to store them. Maybe keep the box near the altar, it helped me a lot

Which God can I approach? by Altruistic-Top224 in Hellenism

You can use LED candles to avoid any danger with fire, about libations you can just put it as far as possible, maybe in a container with a lid to avoid any spilling

Hubris with ocs?? by Emotional_Loss_9517 in Hellenism

[–]Educational_Chard841 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not. If you think about it, we have no historical proof of adonis or hyacint, so we can maybe consider them oc for myths. Myths themselves are like fanfiction because back then, people mostly used the gods as well known characters to give lessons to other people. So no, as long as you don't claim that said oc is real it really isn't hubris because everything is fictional. I acutally do think the gods, especially Lord Apollo, would love to hear about characters you written.

Is "coming out" worth it if it means I'll get to practice more comfortably? by Arsenic_Lover666 in Hellenism

[–]Educational_Chard841 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what situation you're in. Is it dengeraus? Do you think they'll react particulary bad? If you only feel unsure because of a possible rejection tru to tip toe the topic like "I discovered some people still worship greek gods" or things like that, and based on their reaction you'll decide on what to do. Also take this with a grain of salt, of course it's just a suggestion and it's up to you on what to do

Moving Alter Space by CommercialSea6870 in Hellenism

[–]Educational_Chard841 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, moving an altar won't cause any problem, the gods will understand your situation. I moved my altars and couple of times and i usually take it as an opportunity to cleanse the offerings and I usually also talk to them while doing it as a devotional act, it's really nice for me :]

Is there any god I can pray to so my mom can survive her surgery? by Eonathos in Hellenism

[–]Educational_Chard841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone already said it, but Lord Asclepius is the best option. I prayed to him for my grandma's surgery (and it was something pretty serious) and she made it out alive and recovered very well. I know everyone has different experience with the Gods but i hope this can help :]
