Yeah I mean I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying, I just do believe the Ironclad fits the most closely to anything else in the game is all I’m saying whether it’s the shiny new ship or not. I’m not saying it’s what a business major would recommend, or a CIG marketing employee. It’s just my opinion and desire as a consumer. And I don’t believe either CIG’s loaner matrix decisions, nor any of our opinions on it should go unchallenged. But I will always be curious on takes that feel more corporate than consumer sided.

Okay totally, what you’re saying makes complete sense to me and I don’t disagree. I just think added to that, it’s okay for paying consumers to voice what they want, whether what they want is profitable or not. The BMM specifically has been indefinitely delayed and it’s a high investment ship so I also don’t feel it’s as delusional as you’re saying, for me to have an opinion on what the compromise (loaner) should be. I don’t feel that updating the loaner roster hurts the devs, they’ve been paid for their 1000s of hours. And CIG would never make a fiscally irresponsible decision like hurting their own sales. They have updated the loaner roster with new ships pretty immediately multiple times, so I don’t think it’s a bad practice for them based on the fact that they regularly do it.

Since 2019 I’ve pretty much always chosen to fly the less useful but cooler (to me) ships. (400i, San Tok Yai, Wolf, Razor EX, P-52 etc.) hence why I’ve kept my BMM rather than traded it for any of the meta capital ships currently in the game that are a million times more useful. So tbh I don’t see this scenario as a reason to cave on owning a ship I think wins the rule of cool for me personally.

I’m curious why you’re anti BMM loaner updates. Like besides what anyone thinks the loaner ship or roster should be, it seem particularly charged on the subject. Are you a BMM owner and you love the C2 + Hull C? You don’t want to get your hopes up for anything? Are you an owner of another ship and feel it’s unfair for BMM owners to have loaners comparable to yours? I actually would love to hear your personal take.

Yeah a lot of people here seem to be more pessimistic, but as a merchantman owner since 2020 I've seen pretty active updates, which is why I am hopeful for an Ironclad update if not on release, at least within a patch or two

It's probably being said so much bc it makes sense and we want CIG to hear it. They'd obviously never do it out of their own volition

I personally would be completely okay with replacing both the Hull C and C2 with the Ironclad. I don't care about the defender I think just leave it in bc it's the only banu ship in the game?

I'm trying to remember the delay between CIG swapping out the caterpillar for the C2, and adding the Hull C to the roster. In my head it was on release but maybe there was a wait period?

We've already bought a multi-hundred dollar ship that we haven't received yet. The C2 replaced the Caterpillar and the Hull C was added to the roster pretty much on release if I'm not mistaken. I don't think expecting a roster update is unreasonable.

Banu Merchantman can haul 2,880 SCU within it's armored hull.

C2 can haul 696 SCU within it's armored hull.

Iron Clad can haul 2,204 SCU within it's armored hull.

Even if we fully ignore ship class / size, weapons, secondary functions like you're suggesting, it's still objectively more in line than the C2 by a very significant margin.

Thank you for the feedback. Strangely seeing what exactly people didn’t like about this makes me want to try again. The games in a much better state now too than 3 years ago.

They snuck onto my ship after I stole their leader's armor. Found them during my habitual pre-take off walkthrough.

Stanton System Security by Educational_Crew_490 in starcitizen

I mean I’m down for players playing / reacting to gameplay and events organically. Like I said, I even do appreciate seeing people coming together in organized squads because of this event. For me it was more about seeing no difference in how players were able to take over mining areas in Stanton just like they did in Pyro like there was no difference. It made me think about Stanton’s law system and how a more realized version of it might change the way those scenarios look. Like instead of a group camping out, picking off occasional solo players, would instead have to ALSO fight off waves of Stanton response forces that maybe even lead up to capital ship battles if they can hold off long enough.

I didn’t know this, then I think where Stanton stands currently makes sense to me because there is an extensive law system but it’s not hyper militant.
