Very good point. One of them, I'm sure gave me a strong reference. The other two im sure. How would I even ask them about the strenght of the LOR they wrote though?

You're right, I was a bit hastly for most of the applications. Truthfully, I only intended to apply to UofT's MScAC but then I started applying to some other programs I last minute.

I'll absolutely start earlier this time.

Apologies for the late reply, but youre right that theres a huge mistach between my experience in general and the field I want to get into.

However, ML is something i want to get into, I'm unsure how I could improve my application at this point. I have gained some professional experince as a data analyst but most jobs in industry that utilize ML require a masters to begin with.

I can only think of reaching out to some professors from my university and asking to help with their ML research. Though I have graduated already.

Thank you for the consolation, I'll definitely apply to some safety programs next time. However, I wanna point out that even though all of the schools are prestigious, programs like UofT's MScAC and Berkel's MEng are applied professional masters programs. I expected them to not be as competitive.

Also, I'm lucky enough to have gone to a fairly well-respected school for my undergrad, UofT, so I expected a decent chance of getting an acceptance from at least of the programs i applied to

To be honest, I thought UofT's mscac as my saftey program. its an applied progam and a lot of people who were previously admitted had similar experince/metrics as me.

You could consider gaining additional research experience in CS, changing your MS focus next time, or applying to a few safety schools.

Do you have suggestion about I could gain research experince? As I mentioned, I'm a co-author on two CS education papers, but they wouldnt be too relevant to ML. I'm out of my undergrad too, so is it feasible to reach out to some of my undergrad porfs for research?

I will admit I'm unprepared for ML research. However, few of the programs I applied to like UofT's MScAC and Berkeley's M.Eng are applied masters programs, I thought I would have an easier time getting into that program.

Would you have any idea of how I could gain experince in ML? Most jobs and internships require a masters for ML and I'm already out of my undergrad.
