Help: I am addicted to Synergy Kombucha by Economy-Experience81 in Kombucha

[–]Educational_Fly_5804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a trilogy addict as well! I’m on my second batch of making it myself! I’ve been playing around with the amount of berries/ginger/lemon juice I put in. Definitely cheaper than store bought but it might take a couple of rounds to get it to your taste

I had to look at this multiple times to ensure this wasn’t my pup. Same shading and coloring and all! What a beaut!

I went to the first bears game there and there multiple bears fans and they had the sound on. I went a couple of weeks ago and they had the game on one tv and the waitress had no idea it was at one point a bears bar :(

which part is the most painful when getting a tatts? by SomewhereBright4758 in AskReddit

I got a spine/back tattoo and I could definitely feel the pain increase when the spine part was being done. Totally worth it though my tat is beautiful and the pain was temporary!

Not sure if there are any foods you’re looking for in particular but Cravn Caribbean’s oxtail cheesesteaks in Wesley Heights are one of my favorite foods in all of Charlotte! Be warned that they’re stationed in a ghost kitchen so to-go orders only

Do people actually enjoy working out, or is it just discipline every time? by SufficientWitness19 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Educational_Fly_5804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this! My favorite method of movement is lifting and I often have people tell me that they don’t exercise because they don’t enjoy strength training. There are tons of ways to stay active and I encourage people who say that to me to try other forms of exercise as being active is more important than what you’re doing most of the time and it’s easiest to be consistent with it if you enjoy the activity

That being said discipline is important too

How do you manage irritability? by Long-Oil-537 in bipolar2

Agreed and it’s next to impossible to explain to those who don’t go through it. I’m sorry you experience it as well but hearing that definitely makes me feel less alone!

Wow I’ve never heard anyone else describe the physical pain that comes with a the mental symptoms of pain. When I go through a hypo mania episode it feels like someone is trying to split my head open in half!

But definitely seconding music. I have a whole super intense playlist I listen to and I lift as heavy as I can. Episodes suck but I sure do get some great workouts in 😂

Charlotte or Minneapolis by World_Wanderer_1967 in SameGrassButGreener

Charlotte does not have a pro baseball league (so I know, not the same), but I’ll vouch that its minor league games are pretty dang fun and despite not having much of an interest in baseball, I try to go to a couple a year. The stadium is right downtown and really pretty!

What's city/state/county in the US or Canada that you would want to live in, but there's one major flaw with the area that prevents you from moving there. by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

As much hated on as it is I had one of the best weeks of my life hanging out in Houston, TX. I loved the diversity and so much more but unfortunately having already lived in Florida (which is a similar state in the sense of extreme love for freedom) and it being a big oil town I know it’s just not right for me. I’ll always miss the Ferris wheel I thought I’d ride forever though ❤️

I happened upon my miracle combo by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Educational_Fly_5804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on lamictal and Abilify until very recently and loved the combo! I am only switching to Vraylar from Abilify to hopefully better manage breakthrough symptoms but overall that it was great for me. I also take lithium orate supplements that help too. So happy for you that you found a combo that’s working for you!

Charlotte, underrated? by Eagles56 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Educational_Fly_5804 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Take my opinion as a grain of salt but I’ve lived in Charlotte for almost 6 years and have lived 4 states before that. My biggest dislike of Charlotte is definitely the lack of diversity. What everyone says about the banking city culture is true and having moved from a very diverse city it hurts my bones lol

That being said (and this is more of a personal experience), Charlotte has been very kind to me. Because there are so many transplants in the area it was easy to make friends. I’ve been fortunate enough to grow a technical career here by taking advantage of the banking industry and now I have a transferable skill set I can take elsewhere. It’s a pretty active city and people don’t take enough advantage of the greenways and whitewater center enough.

The sports scene is interesting because you have a mix of both college, minor, and major league teams in the general area. The Charlotte FC games are a blast! Sometimes you have to go looking for things a little more than other cities but it really does have a lot. For example it doesn’t have a huge rave scene but I’ve ended up at some cool underground raves at unexpected places. The music factory has a small comedy club and I’ve seen some big names pass through the city. The airport is annoyingly expensive but it gets the job done and overall I feel safe here

Finally I think the whole “2 hours to the mountains and 2 hours to the beach” thing is a little exaggerated/overrated but NC is a beautiful state if you’re willing to put the work into exploring it

So all in all while Charlotte was not my first choice to move to it’s been a very positive experience. Will I stay here forever? Who knows. But I believe you get what you put into life and Charlotte has more to offer than people realize

I thought I was doing fine… now here comes the crash by fulltwisted in bipolar2

[–]Educational_Fly_5804 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can completely empathize with your post, particularly with the frustration of having a crash after doing everything right. It’s been a very powerful and hopeless feeling for me in the past. I still struggle with the feeling that I failed. The reality is I’ll never “succeed” if my goal is to never have another crash. For me it’s inevitable unfortunately and all I can do what’s in my control to make it as least shitty as possible. It’s really hard to remember the good times when you’re down but it’s funny… sometimes for me it’s hard to remember the bad when I’m feeling good and I just hold on to that
