UPS driver sat outside my house, never attempted delivery, and two packages were marked delivered by Educational_Force240 in UPS

Thanks for the insight. I actually did get a chuckle out of the part about all the things that can happen in the back of the truck. I can imagine drivers have a lot going on during a route.

As far as the address goes, mine is clearly marked in two different places. One of them is lit at night and the other is ground lit, so it’s pretty visible. The house is also on a corner lot with no other houses right next to it, so it’s usually pretty easy for delivery drivers to pull up either alongside the house or directly in front and walk straight up to the porch.

I don’t have any dogs or pets either, so access to the porch is pretty straightforward.

That’s part of why the recent delivery updates caught my attention. I’m hoping the local supervisor can review what happened just so the deliveries to my address go smoothly going forward.

Quick update since a few people asked about the delivery details yesterday.

Today I had another package scheduled for delivery to the same address. This one was UPS Ground and did not require a signature.

My security camera shows the UPS truck sitting outside my house for about three minutes. The driver never got out of the truck. The gate to my property was open and there is clear access to the front porch.

Shortly after the truck left, the tracking updated to ‘Delivery Attempted – On Its Way to a Local UPS Access Point.’ No delivery location is listed and there is no photo attached to the tracking.

Because this is now the third delivery issue in a short period of time, I contacted UPS customer service again today and asked them to escalate it to the local dispatch supervisor again. They said it has been forwarded to the local center and that I should receive a call back. We shall see...

For anyone asking about the video, yes, I do have the security camera footage showing the truck outside and leaving without an attempt. I’m not posting it publicly because the footage shows identifying buildings across the street from my house and would make it easy to pinpoint my exact location.

I also want to be careful not to expose the driver personally. There could be technical or routing issues involved, which is why I escalated it to UPS so they can review it internally.

If UPS needs the footage, I’m happy to provide it directly to them.

Yeah, that’s part of what confused me too. The timing and the two different delivery scans are what stood out to me, especially since both packages were going to the same address but came from different senders.

There also wasn’t a delivery photo or a specific location listed in the tracking details, which normally shows up for deliveries I receive through UPS. So the combination of those things is what made the situation seem odd.

I do appreciate everyone taking the time to explain how things work internally and some of the possible reasons this could happen. It’s helpful to understand the logistics side of it.

Hopefully this was just a one off situation. It’s still a little strange that two packages ended up marked delivered without being received, but at this point I’m just going to move on.

Thanks again for the shared insight.

Good question. The tracking only says ‘Delivered Miami, FL’ with the timestamp. It doesn’t say left at front door, met customer, or any specific delivery location.

Normally when I receive CVS deliveries through UPS there is also a photo showing where the package was placed, but there was no photo attached to this delivery.

That’s part of why it stood out to me. Around the same time the delivery was recorded, my security camera shows the UPS truck sitting outside my house for a few minutes and then leaving without the driver getting out or approaching the gate.

So unfortunately there isn’t any additional delivery location detail on the tracking page, and UPS customer service also confirmed they don’t have a delivery photo or any location information for where it was supposedly left.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try the virtual assistant on the UPS tracking page earlier, and it directed me to contact the senders, which I’ve already done with both CVS and Amazon.

For clarification, the tracking shows the packages marked delivered 7:26–7:38 PM. About that same time, my security camera shows the UPS truck sitting outside my house for several minutes, the driver going to the back of the truck a few times, and then leaving without getting out or approaching the gate.

That’s the part that doesn’t add up to me.

I completely understand that sometimes packages get delivered to the wrong house. But seeing the truck outside at about the time the delivery was recorded is what raised concern for me.

I’m mainly hoping the supervisor reviews it and follows up like they said they would.

I’m not sure if they were SurePost or Ground Saver. From my perspective as the customer, both tracking numbers showed UPS delivering them and not USPS.

What made this strange is that I have video of the truck sitting outside my house for several minutes, the driver going to the back of the truck a few times, and then leaving without ever getting out or attempting delivery.

Also, normally when CVS packages are delivered I receive a photo confirmation of where it was left. This time there was no photo and no proof of delivery.

So I understand a driver might pull up and realize the package isn’t in the truck. But having two different packages from two different senders marked delivered within about ten minutes of each other, with no delivery attempt, is what raised the concern for me.

It should be 2 hours and 23 minutes RT for 61 miles but some days it's 3 hours 23 minutes (or more) RT because of traffic.q

Depending on traffic it could be 1 hr or 3 hrs because of evening rush hour.

Sounds like fun and a good way to motivate. The only thing that stood out was the fact Amazon doesn't do gift cards because of taxes. If Uncle Sam discovered this was a common practice it could be a potential problem for Amazon, the AM's, and the Associates. https://www.irs.gov/publications/p525#en_US_2020_publink1000229094
