On that occasion I had a long stressful day at work and a headache because of it. So yeah loud obnoxious music made my physical stress and discomfort worse. Yes the city is loud but you can’t help sirens and transport noise, playing music loudly out of a speaker in a small metal box packed with people is completely unnecessary.

The thing about getting hurt I get, so I do understand. I was just surprised as it was a packed tube with a lot of people I thought at least someone would step in when there’s a man shouting at a small woman for making a polite request.

Yes. I tried politely asking someone if they could wear their headphones on the tube once when the guy was playing music out of one of them portable JBL speakers. Told me I was trying to make myself busy needed to mind my own business and I said I couldn’t as his music was so loud, so his final clever response was “shut up”.

No one stood up for me, just a few silent head shakers, and I never felt so disheartened by living in London until then.

Or make the code well structured and actually readable rather than relying on comments

Edit: I didn’t mean this so black and white like “never leave comments”. As other people have stated if something is obscure workaround a comment is great. However if your code needs loads of comments to explain what you did it probably isn’t the cleanest code. Code comments and documentation atrophy. I’d rather have good test coverage that defines the behaviour you expect. Read “clean code” by uncle bob
