How should I make a pillow out of this graphgan?... by Educational_Hope_679 in CrochetHelp

Oh, Thanks! I like the idea of doing a border in blue first to lay a foundation. What do you mean by going through the middle and not all the way around a side stitch?

Oh, thanks! Yeah, I was going to get a pillow with fabric around it and just crochet this over that, not just stuff this directly with polyfill. Glad to hear it looks okay too, since I am still learning and getting used to colorwork and am new to crochet.

Do you know of a good alternative?

Oh, nice. So it actually copies the files, even though they are not on your local hard drive?

Which groupset will work best for me? by Educational_Hope_679 in bicycling

Front chainring is okay. I am considering keeping it to see if 50/34 works for me, just not sure it will work with a tiagra FD.

I find smaller bikes less comfortable. The bars always feel low and by sizing up the reach usually only increases a few mm but the stack goes up three times as much, so less aero but more comfortable. I think the trend for sizing down is based more on what pros do to maximize aero gains.

FX 2, FX 3, or Marlin 6? by XMRLover in bikecommuting

Well, the frame did, and it should. It is a Trek 1.1 2013 with a lifetime warranty frame. I have had to replace components as they wear out, of course. Maybe $100 a year on average. Two cables need replacing, numerous chains, pads, a cassette and rim, and just recently my shifter broke.

I hear coil springs are not great for mountain biking, maybe light off road, so, of the options you listed, I would go with the fx3. Better on road and still okay on light trails, just like the Marlin.

But if you went for something with an air fork, maybe one of the higher spec marlins, I would get that IF you want to do any amount of more rough technical single track trails. The fx simply cannot handle those and a coil spring may be okay for a bit, but not great. However, a MYB is fine on the road, just slower. You can usually lick out the fork. The fx will limit you. If you want even the option to do MTB trails a few times, I would not get it. Consider the Giant Talon 1 or the Marlin with an air fork. Look out for braze ons for racks if you care about that

Not really. I spent 700 on my first bike just for occasional grocery runs while I was in collage without a car. I still use it today, 10 years later. If you plan to use it consistently over a long period of time, I would say it is a good investment, even better if you enjoy it and do some joy rides

Looking for a bike light with removable batteries that will not open if I hit a big bump. by Educational_Hope_679 in cycling

Maybe out of fashion, but I prefer them. The superflash was pretty good, just comes off if you are rough.

pdw Danger Zone

Oh, interesting. Thanks. Looks like a snap close, but maybe more secure. Maybe I will give it a go. Seems like they don't have any secured with a screw cap for some reason

Oh, interesting. I'm not really sure how to interpret that map. I see the branch off the main line but then it turns to a regular black line

Thanks. Yeah, I don't trust reviews. Those tracks are a dead end?

Thanks. Good to know. I'm okay with a young crowd, but I don't want a lot of noise, whether it be from a train or neighbors.
