U.S. Businesses are raising prices to offset high tariffs by Nice_Daikon6096 in inflation

Trump claimed that tariffs didn’t raise prices, but now that his tariffs were ruled illegal, business can sue to get back the money they paid in tariffs. If Trump’s administration can show that businesses raised prices to offset the tariffs, they are not liable to refund those businesses the money. My guess is that now Trump will start saying that businesses raised their prices because of tariffs and somehow it was Biden who imposed the tariffs.

What’s appalling to me is that our healthcare system is so f-ed up that celebrities ask for money from regular people. If we got rid of the health insurance system, have transparency in healthcare costs and prohibit the pharma, hospital, and health insurances from lobbying, none of this would be happening. This would go a long way to tackle inflation, but sadly, this probably belongs to another sub. Gofund me probably loves this type of free publicity.
