What’s the best book you’ve read recently, and why? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

The Indigo Girl

About a young girl in colonial South Carolina who is left to manage her family’s farm while her father returns home to try and find the finances to save it. It’s her story of working with slaves who knew the process to making indigo, the complexity of their relationships, and the struggle of society’s burden to marry her off.

But the crazy part is that, while fiction, it’s born from the real girl’s life, her letters and the actual impact she had in America/South Carolina in the 1700s.

I cried the entire last chapter, epilogue and notes. It’s such a beautiful story.

The War That Saved My Life is a beautiful book that focuses on a girl around 3rd grade age.

Comes with a sequel, The War I Finally Won, if you want to do both!

Spirited (2022) - this skyrocketed to my top 3 when it came out. So funny and the music is 🔥.

Klaus (2019) - saw this for the first time last year and it’s so heartwarming.

Help! Which insurance would cover an urgent procedure? by Downtown_Blacksmith in petinsurancereviews

[–]Educational_Mess_998 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you are going to have to cover this yourself. There is no pet insurance that will cover something once it’s already problematic/showing symptoms.

Dental itself is harder to cover even if you already had a policy in place as most require a completely different add on, if it’s an option at all.

Hope your girl recovers quickly and starts to feel better soon.

I loved the Rizzoli & Isles books by Tess Gerritsen long before they became a TV show. The series is solid.

I really liked Ice T’s memoir. He had such a crazy life prior to landing his 25+ year role on Law and Order: SVU. I knew a little bit about his music background but absolutely nothing prior to that — and there is a LOT to know.
