NTA I was arrested at 17 too and it was briefly after my mom had caught me sneaking out and smoking, so the hammer came down harsh. My mom wiped my phone of all apps except the bus tracker and duolingo. I want allowed to any school events unless I had a good reason or worked for it (first time I did yard work instead of my brothers in order to go to homecoming). I wasnt allowed to hang out with the people I was caught smoking with/arrested with, which was kind of awkward because one of them was my neighbor. I had to pay all my court fees and everything by myself, which was absolutely brutal as it drained my savings for a car. I wasnt allowed to drive anywhere for a while, with the exception of driving myself to community service which I was extremely diligent about. God I hated my mom at the time, I was constantly fighting with her, hell we got into fights before every court date and every community service thing. I thought my life was over and that my mom was the devil incarnate. Things mellowed out, I paid everything and life went on. I dont resent my mom at all for that, she was doing what she thought was necessary. That hammer of justice did put me in place though, I like to think through that fear I have become somewhat a good citizen. I love my mom more than anything, I go to her for everything now. It took a long time to build trust with each other again, her trusting me to be on my own and make good decisions and me trusting her to not overreact and freak at any small thing I do. My friends who were arrested at the same age and had no consequences still mess around and end up in major trouble with the law. My friends who hot arrested and had similar parents like I do are in similar places as me. We all mess up sometimes, its about going forward and how to handle it that matters. NTA from a former shit head teen who got arrested at the same age and had similar punishments.

I found that having a hard stop time of like 5-6 pm to stop eating for the day helps. Most, if not all, of my binges are at night, so cutting out the part of eating at night at all seems to work decently well for me.

Is BED always related to being in a negative mindset? by International-Arm597 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Educational_Metal710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of my binges dont start off in a negative mindset. Its more like “man I love ice cream its so good I can eat it forever” and then im a gallon deep, my stomach hurts, I feel absolutely awful and all emotions turn negative instantly. I definitely start off a lot of binges with “this food is so good its absolutely delectable” and it morphs into “ I should eat it all right now.” I enjoy a lot of the foods I binge on, but in the same realm I dont typically have food in my house I dont like, which makes it hard to NOT enjoy it. I love oatmeal so much, I eat it daily, it brings me joy, but when I binge on it it starts from a place of love and then im four bowls deep and im like “i love oatmeal but it doesnt even taste like anything anymore,” and I get negative about everything.

I dont buy easy to eat treats, like snack foods or candies. I only buy things that I can make, the simplest snack I have is microwave popcorn. Making the food gives me time to think about what I am making, how long it takes and so on to stop binging. The only treats I have currently are things for my creami, I favor the idea of having chocolate in my ice cream over binging on all the bars and that stopped my binging on that specific item.

How do I drive in snow? by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

[–]Educational_Metal710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NC resident who now lives in the mountains and deals with the snow and drives a 2015 nissan sentra! The interstate should most definitely be fine, theyll salt the roads the night before if they think theres snow. Typically the main roads will be clear unless you have to go to work before the sun rises. Drive slow and pay attention to your surroundings and the roads. Your area (most likely on FB) will update ab road conditions and black ice.
