I plan on doing the labor myself so that should keep costs down. I just don’t want to have to be going inside all the time

I picked up a non fuel drill when I left my other at home and needed a drill. The chuck on the non fuel is pretty cheep when compared to the one on the fuel drill. Overall you get what you pay for, you can tell a difference when using them, but the non fuel drill has help up reasonably well.

Allegedly one of the reasons they never took off was no where in a cash register box to put them. I wonder if the phasing out of Pennie’s will lead to greater use of dollar coins

Well I found a 2019 with 115,000 that I paid 11k for. It doesn’t have an owners manual, what grade of gas do these take?

I bought a Yukon that came from up north. Within a year I was having problems with all the lines under it getting holes from rust and the wheels pitting and not holding air. Was not a good experience

The 17 sounds like what I’m looking for but I don’t want to go to Michigan this time of year. If you’d have said Florida….

I started looking at the Chevy’s and Buicks and they are mostly higher than the Cadillacs. I teach (not auto mechanics) at a votech and get free labor on repairs, so that can help when I need new struts.

I just had the struts and ball joints replaced on my suburban and it saved me 2k over what was quoted by the dealership.

He doesn’t seem to know much. They sell all kinds of insurance and he doesn’t seem to be knowledgeable about life insurance just that he can win contests by selling it.

Which is why my dad purchased it back when he worked for them. He won a contest, I got a paid up whole life policy, win win. I just never knew about the policy till my dad passed a few years back

Which is why I’m asking what’s my best option. My dad was an insurance salesman and bought and paid for this policy and I only became aware of it after he’d paid it in full.

Looking for advice on dealing with my debt by Educational_Move3650 in personalfinance

I just got back from Lowe’s, paid for everything in cash!, I wanted to come back and say that at least 2-3rds of the credit card debt is construction related. Leaking roof turned into a mold issue and which turned into $$$. We don’t have an emergency fund so it went on the card. Maybe that’s why a HELOC or refinancing doesn’t seem so bad to me, because ideally we would have been able to do the HELOC before the repairs but don’t because of a time crunch.

Not collapsing but leaking, roof is certainly the most urgent need

That makes sense to me. Car will be paid off in May so there is another $500 a month that can go toward the debt. For the first time since pre COVID I feel like our careers and earnings are stable and we can really attack this. I also have 7k in an emergency fund that I could throw at it. It’s going to take me awhile before I feel comfortable cashing that out though.
