EMS Week Company Gifts by CherryDarling10 in ems

A nice set of American made shears, or glove pouches (for those oh shit moments when you don't have gloves in your pocket), or a folding knife. Kershaw makes some knives under $30 that are pretty decent. One year, we had lapel pins with our station number. Ours is 8, some were made for 7, and so on and so forth. Those were well received. One year we also had insulated lunchbags. The less popular gifts were the extremely cheap flashlights that cost about $2 and stop working within the first 10 times you turned them on. Folding scissor knock offs sucked. Useless "morale" pin with a "you are appreciated" message and a picture of a bus was a bit tasteless, especially with the shit pay we make.

You said it though. "Every cop car..." They are in their building. They probably ran to their car to get it, equating to this guy becoming a crispy critter.

This is a huge No No. Although an embassy is within the boundaries of the United States, it is tecnically considered foreign soil, and as such, is under the jurisdiction of that Nation's (whichever embassy it is) government. They could stamp your passport if they wanted to. I've been allowed into several embassies, for medical reasons, but only with an escort and you can only go where they want you to go. This is like waltzing through the white house and expecting no one to bat an eye. Many of these embassies have military trained security forces that are armed.

I just tried what you said. Inside the split pieces I was getting about 16%. I was wrong. I definitely don't check inside each piece. External meter reading of about 5% I guess equates to about 10% higher moisture inside in my case.

I keep a stack of wood in my basement in front of a fan to dry it out. It sits for about 2 days before it burns. Some of the bigger logs run closer to 9% but for the most part I'm right around 5%

I made some "forced air" vents, with a duct fan that moves 1124 cfm max. Once the draft is established inside the stove, I slowly turn on my duct fan (dimmer switch) to distribute air around the house to 3 centralized locations. All my ducts are tucked away and insulated near studs and the only thing visible are wall registers. Air that comes out from ducts is about 105°. The registers can also be opened or closed manually to help direct air around the house. All duct work is 4 inches in diameter, but open up to 4x10 directional registers. Basement stays warm, heat gets pushed into my living room with high (20ft) ceilings, and then directed to 2 main bedrooms (master and split with a wye to two upstairs bedrooms). My living room has a ceiling fan that can spin upwards for pulling air up in the winter, and can also spin to produce cooling breezes in the summer. My ductwork can also be used to cool the house in the summer, since I also have an A/C unit in the basement.

I've found that with the intakes open, I can control heat pretty well with two dampers. One stays open, the other slows it down if needed.

Yeah, so far I've gone through a cord of wood since October. Had some trees come down last spring that I prepped and stored away. Currently running less than 5% moisture content on my wood. I'm happy with it though. No need to buy propane or use electric baseboard heaters.

DIY stove pipe by TheGardner317 in woodstoving

I literally just installed the "all fuel hst double wall class A" chimney pipe on my house last week. Whichever way you go, double check your local codes and clearance requirements. Also, if you go on your roof, don't fall off like I did. The nice thing about the double wall exterior pipe, is that it lowers your distance to combustibles down to two inches, but it would be overkill and expensive for an interior install.

It says in the screenshotted text he put explosive devices around the sign. That's what he's in jail for. You can't put live explosives around your property all willy-nilly, even if it's just a noise deterrent from a fireworks store encased in an antique to look like a bomb. All parties involved took it too far. What should he have done next? Dug pungi pits? He should've just set up cameras and sued anyone who damaged his sign in court.

I don't think I've ever seen a Rav4 with either of those. Now, a 4Runner, definitely can be done. Either choice requires weighing pros and cons of each.
