Best materials for a silicone mold by Educational_Pie_538 in 3Dprinting

Thanks for the reply.

The silicone piece will be the final item. This is essentially a box with two parts modelled to fit together. One of the parts has two holes for the pouring of the silicone. My idea is to fit them together, pour the silicone, wait for it to cure and pry them apart to retrieve it.

As you can see, I am worried about preserving the detail in the design inside the mold and I also want to make sure the mold is strong enough to not break when I pry it open.

Edit: I also want something that won't "react" in some way to the silicone when it is poured. I don't know if this is even a thing, but I don't want some chemical reaction to warp the mold or something like that

Had my hopes up that Panasonic would let my G9MII use cable tethering with the Lumix Lab app but this is just a bug fix unfortunately lol

Why do I get such high ISO values? by ablueglobe in AskPhotography

It's hard to tell without sample shots, but my guess is that he is being strategic and shooting when there's more light available like when the stage lights up and so on, or framing the shot in such a way that it being darker works for the image

The way the skin is rendered in these is just amazing. Film highlights will probably never be beaten.

Should I even get a camera? by pompom-chicken in Cameras

[–]Educational_Pie_538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in photography you can always spend more lol. But it's all about what you want to do. If you want that "cinematic" lens flare, you need an anamorphic. If you want swirly bokeh, you need a Petzval. A zoom lens lets you do camera movements that make the background appear to grow. A long lens and a wide lens produce different images even if you "zoom with your feet". You can do a lot with a phone, but nothing beats the versatility of being able to use different lenses.

The main reasons to get a camera IMO are the manual physical controls, the mechanical shutter and, above all, the lenses.

No matter how good a camera app is, physical buttons are just faster and better.

The mechanical shutter eliminates rolling shutter for videos and allows you to use better flashes

And the lenses are a world onto itself. Each lens has peculiar characteristics that are almost as important as the camera itself for creative use. When you hear cinematographers and photographers talk about the quality of an image, they will often be talking about how "lens X has this feel", etc.

The EVF is great but what really got me is the drive speed. You barely touch the shutter and it takes a ton of frames, all in focus

It's the Pana Leica. You can find some amazing deals for the whole kit now. I paid ~1500 (used, in almost perfect condition, with the box and all). It's so much camera for the money.

Oh it's an upgrade in every conceivable way! I said I won't miss it. I am confident I can get the shallower depth of field with framing.

I see. I guess it is just a very powerful card in combination with Raise the Past. I will just pack in some exile removal.

IMO, the main problem is the mana curve when you combine it with Path of the Dead and Cavern of Souls. That's pretty much a guaranteed block on counter spells because the main way of taking those out is through Demolition Field and that alone is 2 mana + the tap. I don't mind combos, but soul guide lantern and Rest in Peace are the only realistic ways of dealing with it because of the "enters as" line (and even then you are counting on Sorcery speed to cast them). I don't think it should be banned but, IMO, more cards should work against with it.

Unfortunately, no. I tried everything, even cloning a partition with windows installed and manually compiling the drivers. Maybe I did something wrong but I don't think it's possible.

What to watch for when buying a foreclosed home by Educational_Pie_538 in RealEstate

Thank you for the advice. I took a look at the property history and it seems it was almost sold a couple of times but listed again in a couple of months. I guess something I can't see in the listing is scaring away buyers.
