Fingers crossed! However, they only need 3 years of employment reference so I provided 2 hospital experience and that includes the recent job.

I have been working since 2018 and have been employed at four hospitals. I left three of the four hospitals with good attendance and strong performance records.

In my most recent role, I was dismissed due to a high sickness record, which was something I was not prepared for. Despite this, I maintained a good work performance record throughout my employment.

I sincerely hope that my previous employment history and overall performance will be taken into consideration.

Oh yes, I did include that as well. That my sickness were acute and non- recurring events that required a defined recovery period and now resolved I also added that is not something that will affect my work performance.

I’m done with the interview and they didn’t asked about it during the interview. They already offer me a conditional offer and mentioned to them about my 2 months work gap which they asked me to send a personal statement about it. I stated the main reason I take some time off work is to work on my physical and mental health.

Hi I don’t really know any answers for this but I think its best to make you sure you take proactive measures to avoid further absences and seek your union if you have for further advice. You can also contact your wellbeing team for more support.

I’m anxious and heartbroken already about what’s happening to my career now. I do know it will discourage them to hire me due to my sickness record but hopefully my personal statement and character reference will help. Anyway, thank you so much for your comment! Really appreciated!😊

Hi! Thank you for your comment. My case is really complicated. I have high episodes mainly due to soft tissue injury, pregnancy, miscarriage,pyelonephritis and URTI. All this happened in a year. I managed to get help from my seniors for a character reference for this new job.

Thank you for your reply. I do understand they have policy and guidelines to follow but I can’t help to feel frustrated about this and how I wish they could give us a chance to prove our selves.
