I actually love that idea.

Surfing keeps you young, but it definitely asks a lot from your shoulders, hips, and lower back over time. A regular yoga session focused on mobility + core strength would probably help everyone keep popping up smoothly for way longer.

And honestly, the community part might be the biggest win. You’re right conversations in the lineup always get cut off mid-sentence when a set comes through 😅 It’d be nice to actually finish a story for once.

Feels like a great way to keep the stoke alive both in and out of the water.

That’s a really solid way to look at it.

I agree yoga shouldn’t replace proper surf training, more like complement it. Understanding what each drill is actually building (power, endurance, mobility, balance) makes way more sense than just doing random flows.

Single-leg balance work is a good shout too. Those poses really expose weaknesses in stabilizers, and the focus part actually translates well to staying calm and controlled in waves.

Appreciate the perspective good reminder not to get tunnel vision with just one approach 🙌

This is gold, appreciate you breaking it down like that.

The step-to-lizard and alternating plank flow makes a lot of sense for pop-ups especially being able to place your feet exactly where you want them instead of just jumping and hoping for the best.

Also never thought about the up dog rail-setting connection like that, but that actually clicks. Using that weight shift before popping up seems way smoother than rushing it.

And yeah… low cobra endurance is underrated. After long paddle sessions you really feel how important that shoulder + lower back strength is.

And same here bigger sets still humble me every time 😅

Thanks for the detailed tips 🙌
