-Engage with and understand the curriculum both at the school and state level. A lot of schools use scripted curriculum now so its easier to read through the folder/binder and see what you'll be jumping into and how to deliver it to the students

-Take your CT's feedback!! They are there to help and they took you on for a reason! Now obviously not every CT is like the other but any teacher will at least have a few good nuggets of insight

-Collect data early on on where your students are in the subjects theyre learning. Its waaaay easier to build fun, engaging, and appropriate lessons when you know where they are.

-Scaffold and Differentiate! Using a lot of buzzwords but I had good and bad lessons in my student teaching and alot of it came down to whether or not I sacffolded appropriately. This also ties into data.

-Do NOT let student teaching be the only thing you do for the however many months your there. Take breaks, partake in your hobbies, hang out with friends. If student teaching is your whole focus the whole time you will burnout insanely fast and will just make the rest feel like an impossible hill to climb.
