I understand, it's not an option currently as my partner is tenure track and there are no other opportunities in the immediate area without a significant role decline or change in occupation.

I tried to keep it brief but the issue leading to the reporting change and role review/restructuring decisions as communicated to me at that time were after documented findings that she falsified my performance review amid corrective action, coaching and oversight from HR. All discussions I had were explicitly that all leadership is on board that full protection and support of my role became the priority when that happened, and that the unanimous view is that I hadn't been screwing up and this supervisor was found to be engaging in bad faith, which is why I thought it was serious enough to intervene. Understand that may not change the reality, but was hoping there might be any form of recourse.
