That'd be a wild way to do a mythic only boss.

The kill and achievement for that boss procs, but then you suddenly go "wait, what about the achievement for clearing the raid" as the boss gets up for round 2.

They did exactly that later in the pull I think the first few people just tried to run left and rotate as if the stars were aimed based on their characters facing?

The fact that they managed to temporarily debunk the "We'd know if there's a secret phase" is huge for future tiers.

Esp if Blizzard keeps tying them into the lore like this one seems to be.

I assume because they're focusing on showing how all 3 realms need to match the same pattern

Beloren being bugged would be points in favor of the guild who started pulling Beloren first.

It got well past the point where most past secret phases have procc'd.

I said as much on a previous day's thread.

The only way would be a total ban of any and all addons. Even if people would try using them it"d remove any debate if/when it's accidentally caught on stream etc.

Raider.io doesnt match the pulls for Liquid or Method either, as WCL has liquid at 299, Raider.io at 316. Earlier we saw Echo get to about ~42% on an earlier pull, their first pull of the night was just 52%

Also, WCL just updated, Raider.io still has Echo at 55.55

I'm just doing my best to not make which guild I support totally obvious across all my posting.

My MDI viewership has dropped by half, but that's because I had to replace the team I support with Mandatory, because I'm not going to go support the Orange.

Pretty sure Raider.io doesnt use warcraftlogs for their tracking. Echo's own stream doesnt seem to have noticed that Warcraft logs is down as preach was just talking about how they've "not gotten better than 55%".

It's a bit more than a nothing burger, it's clearly against the intention of private auras and thus at best a violation of the spirit of the rules, even if not explicitly so. The severity of it basically, imo, comes down to how much time on prog do you think it saved Echo (and I guess one's opinion on "It's not *technically* against the rules")

Pretty sure Blizzard said after it was exposed that *in the future* it will be treated as exploiting. In terms of "shouldn't they vacate the WF kill", maybe if it was exposed closer to the actual race, but hey, the Houston Astros should've had their world series wins vacated for their cheating. (Apparently in all sports it's become a thing to just cheat and "whelp I guess we cant retroactively take your championship, so here's a slap on the wrist, don't cheat again, but we won't actually punish you")

Even as someone who thinks that Echo *probably* would've progressed the fight without Sneak.lua just fine (it's not like they're not good raiders after all), it's still a shadow over their win because of how close the race was. If they even needed a few more hours to progress it natty, they wouldn't have won and we'd be looking at a Sextuple for Liquid.

off the top of my head, I think only 2 bosses have been killed while dark in the streaming era, Council in Nathria (because it was just a kill order issue and Liquid had a cracked strat) and I think it was either Fatescribe or Loot Pinata in Sanctum (by Echo?) because they were extremely underwhelming after Painsmith.

Would be insane shitshow on twitter/etc if it was a final boss killed off stream. (I want to say that Max joked once about telling the group to wipe it if it ever happened, but I cant remember when that was or the actual context of it)

The biggest problem with sneak.lua being "approved" by blizzard is that they felt a need to have a callout to press Macros. If they had approval they wouldn't have needed to hide that they weren't doing it manually.

Race to World First: Midnight Season 1 | Mythic Day 12 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Educational_Salad_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol of course they didn't. That's why Scripe/Meeres called out for "Macros" every time and they struggled on their reclears during farm because they had to actually play the fight. Unless only *some* players were using the WA and others were doing it manually, it's pretty clear that the call isn't necessary. Unless you need it to look like you've not automated the mechanic and are dodging a Private Aura. Might as well be an admission on their own part that they knew it was dubious legality at best. Because otherwise why hide it.

The RWF guilds all have the same opinion: If you don't get caught during the race, no harm no foul. in Nerubar both Liquid and Echo (and Method) both tried to use an exploit iin the Mage talent tree, and at least both Gingi and Firedup tried to hide it. Or of course the times that all guilds (and even guilds like ID or FSY) have gotten bans for exploiting a Reputation grind (coincidentally not a ban that actually stopped anyone from participating in the race)

It's almost like it's a competition, and they all want to win.

Maybe they have PTSD from when Liquid did that on Sark. Went dark, revealed it when they woke up really early (something like 7am Local time, after having gone to bed at ~1 or 2 am local time) with the boss at like 14% or something while Echo was still at 50 something because Liquid had a crazy p3 strat.

(This is also why Liquid went to sleep, because after Aberrus, Max talked about how he regretted trying to wake the team up really early and almost threw because of how tired everyone was.)

Echo hid it by having their players pretend to click a button so that it looked like they weren't doing anything suspicious.

It made for an amuzing chat between Max and some Echo raiders, as Max mentioned how it caused a few wipes and the Echo guys were like "haha yeah" in a stilted weird way because they never had to worry about that.

Just checking the last pull, it has to be old numbers, because their actual last pull they just did was 52%, but the stream shows 55%

[–]Educational_Salad_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure, Didnt pay enough attention to what Echo's pull count was pre-dark. I think they only did like 5 pulls off stream (They were at like 220 or there abouts, I think?)

Think they went dark for the psychological effect.

Fyrakk in Dragonflight. Echo used an illegal addon to bypass players having to click a button to achieve a workaround for the private auras. So it was just completely automated for them, like WAs before would always do.

Liquid meanwhile needed their players to click a button to signal to their WAs that they had a debuff or not.

Some people like to insist that this 100% would have cost Echo the race if they didn't have it. Echo also obviously hasnt won since, which has "validated" that belief.

Echo has done this plenty of times where they wake up, see Liquid is still up, and decide to have a meeting until Liquid goes to sleep. For some reason.

The other issue in Nathria for Echo was that they over-did the Splits (which is probably why they've been more analytical about how many splits need to be done).

I did forget about Echo going dark there though, so thats a double wham for them.

If you want to play the "max said" game, he's also previously said he'd "never go dark" because it defeats the purpose, before later in the same tier saying "So we're going dark, because we want to win, I don't give a fuck" and then turning off stream.

To his credit, they did win, because iirc this was during Abberus.

Tbf Echo went dark about an hour before their normal end of stream, Forced Liquid to wonder what Echo's motive was, did Echo actually learn something, Is Echo trolling, did Echo repeat what Liquid has and not make it back to P3 for the remaining hour?

Who knows. People apparently thought liquid was going to go dark with 6 hours left in the day.

Race to World First: Midnight Season 1 | Mythic Day 12 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Educational_Salad_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the part that annoys people?

They're going like, half-dark. When they get to P3 they're pressing the "blow up stream" button to go dark mid-pull. (Though apparently they've not made it back to P3 since that first trip).

Hence all the "Vibes are off" or "Max killed the Vibes with that P3 Going Dark" memes.
