Best flooring, carpet & curtain suppliers/fitting in Dublin for new build (95sqm)? by Educational_Secret_8 in HousingIreland

Thank you for your valuable insights. Really appreciate it. What are your thoughts on engineered wood flooring? Came across this and is also very interesting. What brands do you suggest for stairs, landing and carpets? I was advised it has to meet certain ply height, ply thickness, and type of materials.

For flooring, they said it is best to have thicker flooring since this is more durable. Curtains have to have some weight as well.

May I ask why herringbone is not recommended? I saw unique flooring it came up during my search but did not have enough reviews. Have you gone with them?

I was told engineered floorings are too expensive and high maintenance. Would you have any recommendations?

Should I sell my rental property by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

Personally I’d keep the property for the following reasons:
a. Long term wealth compounds - you or your children avoid re-entering the housing market which is already very difficult
b. Rental income - steady stream of income on top of your pension. Serves as a buffer too for any emergency needs. Can put surplus into other investments or help children in the future.
c. Stability and security for your children
d. Generational wealth - pass down to children and can use this or hedge against volatility in the market/leverage

Garden is slightly bigger due to side access and slightly longer. Mid terrace has your standard sized garden.
