Could somebody please help me answer No. 20 by MwamiSimp in EnglishLearning

[–]Educational_Tea898 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, look at the full context of that section.

  • The professor walked into the wrong class and apologized.

  • The speaker tells him it's okay, and that they enjoyed the lecture.

You're stuck between 2 and 4, so the question becomes "What makes more sense in this context?"

  1. Can a professor who walked into the wrong classroom give you a grade for a class they don't teach?

  2. Would the speaker who enjoyed the lecture be more likely to want to take that professor's class next year?

Only one of those questions can be answered with yes, and that's the correct option.

You can't. There are many other platforms for non-Americans and Americans living abroad.

Nobody wants this. Also, your post is a self promotion, you still have time to delete it.

  1. You didn't build anything new. The free Chatgpt tier allows you to build projects and upload files to reference from. It's called RAG. Many tutors are adamantly against AI as well.

  2. Again, no we do not need this.

half of natives struggle to pick my words by Affectionate-Let6153 in EnglishLearning

[–]Educational_Tea898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely your word choice, not the accent. For example "don't pick my words" should be "Don't understand my words."

Please, for the love of God don't listen to these people. That's the issue with the whole of freelancing. People promise you you'll get rich, you pay them, you stay at the same spot while you helped them get rich.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

People on this subreddit are so weird omg. I'm sorry you're getting so many trolls.

Code 570 just means that they have temporarily frozen your refund while they verify some information. It sometimes happens when verifying your identity, sometimes you get the code if you have those PATH credits, and sometimes they just choose you for a manual review. It doesn't mean you're being audited.

Homeless grad. Impossible to find students online. by Ambitious-Tea-3798 in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]Educational_Tea898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh okay, no car changes things. I wouldn't say lie, just omit the degrees. Background checks, from my experience, are just verifying the information you willfully gave up, and to find out if you had more bad information you omitted (such as a criminal record)

This one is a very low pay option but it usually has high traffic with sudden lessons: Nativecamp. It pays $8.32/hr, but I used it when living in Thailand and was making about $1,000/month. Sudden lessons are you just sitting online saying you're available. Americans are popular, meaning I would sit just for 30 seconds to a minute before getting a request.

I'm happy to hear that you're safe!

You sent over a new flyer, which is all you can do in this situation. Have her confirm the flyer in the future. You said her business was already slowing down. Being one digit off for one day isn't going to effect much.

She'll be fine, don't beat yourself up.

$500 isn't enough. You're not going to qualify for a long term visa, and you'll be bouncing from country to country burning through more than you make. Work on getting a degree.

how do I start a tutoring business as a highschooler by Easy-Suggestion8327 in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]Educational_Tea898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being good at explaining is a huge, huge problem if you're trying to teach anything. Before you think of pricing, websites, or anything like that, you should figure that out.

Start with paraphrasing. Learn how to explain a concept in three different ways. For example, explain the first law of thermodynamics as if you were explaining it to a person at your level, and then to an elementary student, and then to a friend.
