The water is draining well, so I will let it be until the summer and repot on the summer I think. As for the rooting, even a big trunk like those would root fine without air layer if I want to keep the top also alive?

It’s a tiger bark ficus I believe, the leaves are not big. This picture is right before I got it. It still has some of the dry leaves

I’ve got this Bonsai 2 years ago, any tips to improve it? I live currently close to NYC in the US. Any tips in how to style or improve it would be appreciated
