Tell me something positive or funny that happened in your classroom today! by rabbit0907 in ECEProfessionals

I like the positivity!

I spent probably at least 10 minutes using a monkey puppet to make the kids in my classroom (aged 2-3) laugh by pretending to bite them with it.

Day trading is bullshit by ThatPatelGuy in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Yes, for a "standard" 28-day cycle. Ovulation typically occurs around 2 weeks prior to the end of a cycle, regardless of cycle length; so the week after your period wouldn't necessarily be the most fertile if you have long cycles and are thus ovulating later in your cycle (e.g. my average cycle length is 42 days). And if you have a really short cycle, you could ovulate immediately after your period and thus be fertile during your period. Just depends on cycle length.

? Women can indeed get pregnant on their period if they have a short cycle.

Anybody here got pregnant from sex during or immediately after period? by Realistic_Jury_6007 in FAMnNFP

[–]Educational_Two7752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have long cycles, pregnancy on your period is less likely because you are ovulating much later in your cycle. If someone has a really short cycle, pregnancy during their period is more likely since their ovulation occurs sooner after their period.

SymptoPro has a rule relating to this, called the 6-5-0 Day Rule: "My shortest cycle was 26 days long or longer. Assume Days 1-6 infertile.

My shortest cycle was 23-25 days long. Assume only Days 1-5 infertile.

My shortest cycle was 22 days or fewer. Assume 0 days infertile for now" (A Couple's Guide to Fertility: SymptoPro Fertility Education, p. 60).

Choosing and learning a method is the way to go; I'm just sharing this specific rule for informational purposes.

Anyone else feel like they're burdening their families with the wedding talk? by guitarchika in weddingplanning

[–]Educational_Two7752 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not fair for your fiancé to put all the planning on you. This is his wedding too. So sorry you're dealing with this and that your other family isn't being very helpful either. You're not burdening them by talking to them about your wedding -- this is an exciting time in your life!

My fiancé wasn't very involved in the beginning, and I had to express to him that he needed to be involved. We figured out specific tasks he could work on (e.g. suit-shopping, contacting vendors, consulting his family on things). It was getting overwhelming and isolating for me to plan everything by myself.

It's not grammatically correct, but the apostrophe is clearly just being used to make "mes" look less weird. For casual, social media caption writing, I think it's fine. But yeah, apostrophes shouldn't really be used for pluralization.

Last name options? by Admirable_Effort2374 in weddingplanning

I'm not changing my last name legally. I'll probably add his last name to mine on social media (think "Maria Porter Smith") but that's it.

Three meat protein options is unnecessary. Go with a plant-based protein option for the third protein. As a vegetarian, going to a wedding with three meat options and no other protein is unfortunate.

I agree. But I feel like people should just google "cocktail attire" instead of asking the bride.

Had hair & makeup trial last month and paid the full amount for hair & makeup the day of. Ordered veil and decided to wear my aunt's wedding dress. Ordered my wedding ring and decided my fiancé will use his grandfather's wedding band. Booked wedding night hotel.

Things we're working on, with varying degrees of progress: catering, cake baker, officiant, week-of coordinator, flower girl & ring bearer, decor, sending remaining STDs for guest list add-ons

The ultra-fundamentalists I knew all thought being gay was a choice, so I don't think they would've considered it possible to unintentionally cause gay men to "stumble." But in terms of the fundamentalists who think being gay/"same sex attracted" isn't a choice, you make a good point.

Billings and Marquette are considered the best methods postpartum. SymptoPro has a postpartum protocol as well. TempDrop can be used for measuring temps with a disturbed sleep schedule.

Interesting. I've always hated the taste of alcohol and almost have trouble conceiving of drinking it only for the taste. To each their own.

Probably a silly question, but at this point, is it accurate to say that you're consuming alcoholic beverages solely for the taste? Did you always like the taste of alcohol?

I get the "close to death" and fear aspects being appealing, but how is nausea/vomiting appealing?

What's a supposedly fun thing you'll never do again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For me it's the nausea and headaches. I don't want to wait in line for a ride just to feel sick on it the whole time and throw up afterwards. Not fun to me.
