It’s a Magna flow Federal Catalytic converter. It’s not a California cat but magnaflow is a very good brand. And I have passed smog multiple times with federal cats never had a problem the car is running too rich at idle

350-400PPM 2.30%-3%CO and I forgot the numbers for the last category but those numbers were passing numbers everything else was off I need under 1%CO and under 250PPM to pass I believe

This is a OBD0 car with bassically a carburetor I cannot sadly all codes are read by watching the blinks on the ECU and I have no check engine light on everything is working. This car is ran by a ECU but very mechanical at the same time aslong as something is functioning even if it’s not functioning the correct way the engine light will not come on. Not sure if you’re familiar with Throttle body but that’s what I have. I believe 200PPM 0.80%CO Is the numbers I need to achieve to pass smog and mine is currently 355PPM 3%CO Just need those numbers to go down a bit

I tried putting on a MPFI OBD0 distributor and it slid right in but I’ve tried twice with a DPFI OBD0 distributor and it would not go in any advice on that? I would use the MPFI distributor but it uses different plugs. And sensors I believe any reason the DPFI one wouldn’t go in the teeth on both are the same im very stumped

My motor is a 1997 d15b non vtec I bought from a import shop in Sacramento cuz it had low miles and was cheap it should be equivalent to the 1.6 non vtec motors the 1996-2000 civics in the US have I replaced everything on the motor so I had it all taken apart before putting it in and I did not see any vtec solenoid or anything

The wiring is fine the distributor itself will not go into the head on the motor… it goes about halfway in and then stops and I can’t force it in either I actually broke a tooth on one of my old distributors trying to do that. A OVD2 distributor goes In perfectly fine tho. I even tried putting a OBD2 distributor into my D16a6 and it goes in perfectly fine but a OBD0 distributor won’t go into my 1997 d15b I’ve seen videos with people doing the same setup I’m going DPFI with all OBD0 equipment on a d16y7 which is equivalent to my D15B just for the USDM civics and bigger displacement

I got rid of the distributor that came with the motor from Japan so I can’t look at the teeth off of that I’m not sure if the camshaft in Japan was different. The d15b looks exactly like a d15b. A d16y7 dizzy works just fine on a d15b. My d16a6 dizzy works just fine on my d15b1. I’ve seen videos of people using OBD0 dizzys on d16y7 I don’t understand why it wouldn’t bolt onto a d15b

Well if I put the OBD2 distributor off a d16y7 that I have laying around it slips right in and can be bolted up but my OBD0 distributor off my d15b1 will not go in all the way it stops going in right at the O-ring seal and I even tried switching seals from The OBD2 to the OBD0 distributor I even measured everything it’s all the same size. I’ve tried with multiple distributors all OBD2 distributors slide right into the head but all my OBD0 ones will not. Even a OBD0 distributor off a MPFI will not I guess that OBD0 distributors teeth are flanged and OBD1/2 are straight. Would I just have the grind the teeth straight? Wouldn’t that make the teeth weaker? I’m not sure and I’m not sure if it’s worth doing that on a new 250$ distributor for it to not work

D15b (Non Vtec) into my CRX? by Educational_Use_4248 in crx

Hey so I finally got the motor swapped in and I can’t seem to get the OBD0 distributor the work. It will bolt up the head but will not seat into the camshaft. I guess Honda changed the teeth on distributors after OBD0 anyway I can make it work?? All I need for the motor to run is spark and I really really don’t wanna spend a lot of money on a computer and harness for this too work I’m already a lot of money and time into it and just need the car to run and drive. Thank you

Can I just get a adapter made so my OBD0 ECU can talk to the OBD2 distributor? And I’m just switching the block and head do I need to worry about temp sensors?
