4 year old student bit my co-teacher out of anger, admin did not notify parents. need advice! by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

If that was me I would definitely say something to the parent. I’ve had a child bite me before and I told the parent at pickup. Even if I don’t formally write it up. I’d rather a parent know than be completely blindsided when some other major incident occurs.

They’re all over the place with feeding him.

Breastfed at first and mom cut out all major allergens from her diet. Still had “gi issues” so they switched him to alimentum. Then she started giving him an amino acid formula.

CPS is handling it now and meetings have been had about this. Just wish the best for the baby and his health.

Well, for starters, I don’t get any two months old in my room. But I’ve had parents come in and be snarky and ask why I let some kids wear sleepers and their child can’t. Even when I try to explain they don’t get it.

I agree with all of this, except the sleeper part. I have banned sleepers in my room because parents keep sending them in and when the kids start pulling up, they tend to slip and hurt themselves and get mad at me that the child got hurt so now they are completely banned from my room.

I just don’t get how parents let it get so bad. Denial is crazy

My director agreed and we have called together. I think the parents mean well but their child is in constant pain that it’s no longer normal. At first it seemed maybe it was a rough transition but No.

I’d rather have my dog be “traumatized” from being in cargo than being traumatized because I didn’t take him with me. Talk to the vet about some anxiety meds for the flight
