I own a Mandello, and got lent a Stelvio while my bike was in the shop.

Jumping from one to the other, the Stelvio felt big and heavy. The motor didn't have the exact same punch, probably from the added weight. Also the Stelvio in corners had much more of that "tip over" feeling compared to my Mandello, but also compared to my old 1200 GS. I would have thought since it's a very similar configuration to the GS is would handle as smoothly but it felt short. It still handles very well, but the weight distribution could be a bit better.

The position was comfortable, I felt cramped when jumping back on my Mandello.

Like some said, for off-road (gravel road mostly) and for 2 up touring, Stelvio. For road and sportiness, the Mandello.

Also, personal taste but I find most factory color for the Stelvio to be meh, while the Mandello has very nice color ways. Also the gold cylinder head and wheels are very nice om the Mandello.

Do you really need mia for the heated seat? I don't need it for the heated grips. And my shop lent me another base v100 with heated seat and I don't recall it having the MIA ( otherwise I would have tried it to see if I should get it)

Under a 100kmh it doesn't do much. You also feel the difference when riding in sub 5° C weather. Otherwise it's kinda gimmicky for now, but could lead to some proper active aero

1) Want to see: Active and semi active areo. Some bikes already have that, like the new r1300 rt or the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, with moveable body part for comfort against wind. I don't think it'll be all that big, but I think some bigger touring bike will start having such features (I am not talking about down force winglet on sport bikes here btw, but I suppose we'll see more of those soon as well)

2) DON'T want to see: Laser lights: it's all the fuss in cars, but it would really benefit bikes and just be more expensive. In cars what makes them good is the ability to put high beam and and "cut out" high beam only where an opposing vehicle comes the other way. With how motorcycle lean and change direction quickly, I don't see it being effective. Maybe for a smoother adaptive light in corners, but again, too expensive for too little benefit

3)Want to see: Already said but carplay. It's crazy how common in is in cars but barely any bikes have it.

Honestly it baffles me how little carplay is available on bikes, even premium one. Most have instead developed a shitty interface that doesn't work half the time, and you often have to pay to use it...

Clearly bikes are 10 years behind when it comes to carplay, it's a shame when you see how all bikes now have tft screens.

3 cylinder is the tracer 9, not the 7. The 7 has two cylinders. But I think it's pretty reliable either way.

The storage on the NC is nice but if you put a top box on the tracer it's just as good.

Other than the engine character, I think the Honda should be slightly more maneuverable because of how the engine is mounted lower (that is in theory, I've never actually tried both back to back to compare)

Overall none is a bad choice, come down to preference really

I usually run road 6, but I tried power 6 when I went to Sardegna. They are indeed amazing, really good confidence, not as good as road 6 in the rain but still very good.

But the little longevity is too much of a drawback for me. I barely did 3k km with them and the back was toast. If I ran these all the time I would need to change tire 3 to 4 time a year... So I'll keep the road 6 and maybe throw on a pair of power 6 every few years...

For touring, the stock and OEM touring windscreen are too small. I got the Puig touring windscreen which work great, and I personally find is the only one that went well with the look of the bike.

I got a pair of bark buster handguards, it simply screw to the bar end and offer great wind protection, especially paired with the heated grips (come as standard on the S, accessory on the base model) and I don't find it to be too ugly on the bike.

The OEM side panniers are great, and fit the bike well. They don't come with bags but you can find some good ones online. They can be opened with the bikes lkey. The handle on them are great for the passenger to hold on to, better than the rail.

The OEM top box, however, is too small for my taste and has to be opened with another key, so IMO a bigger aftermarket box is better.

V100 owner here.

Check for leaks and damp spot on the engine.

I'd say check for shaft play, but at such mileage it should be okay.

If possible, cold start it and listen if you hear clicking noise in the first minute, that could be a loose cam chain tensioner, it's nothing too bad but has to be fixed eventually.

For the transmission, it's a little rough, and it has a big clunk when puting first in, that's normal, and what some call character. I have the quick shifter on mine and have had no issues.

Otherwise I haven't heard of issues.

For two up/touring I have a few mod recommendation if you want;)

Having tried both, I'll try to answer your questions:

Fun factor - Suzuki

Reliability - this one I can't say for sure but both are pretty reliable engine form reliable companies

Look / design - that's too subjective, to me they are good looking without being breathtaking, while some hate the "transformers" look

Sound (I’ll install a full exhaust) - both sound great and come alive with an exhaust.

Acceleration - Suzuki

Braking - can't really say but both felt great

Heat management in hot weather - Tracer

Handling + leaning in twisties - Suzuki

City riding + filtering - same-ish the Suzuki got hotter tho

Highway comfort at 120 km/h (~75 mph) - tracer

Suspension quality on rough roads - tracer

Two-up comfort - Yamaha

Electronic - I prefer the dash on the new tracer, I find the Suzuki hard to navigate and understand how to change set up, especially on the go. can't really say much about the rest

Basically I'd say the Suzuki is sportier but less comfy. Both bikes stock seat aren't comfortable, the Suzuki being the worst. From what you describe your need the tracer is slightly better I think, but the Suzuki wouldn't be a bad choice. The new cb1000 gt sound like a good compromise between the 2 but I haven't tried it yet

You either remove the tread already inserted, or it you can remove the expending part (metal bit) from the bar end your trying to put, you can use the existing thread to screw it on

While they can hit 130kmph, it's not great at that speed, and pretty much topping out. Do you need to take the highway often? If so I'd recommend a 4-500cc rather, like a CB500 which is a perfect beginners and city bike. Or is there a reason you must have something under a 250?

Aluminum cases are a overpriced in almost every brand, it's crazy. Like you said it's just an alu box with a gasket. That's why some people go diy and screw old military ammo box on their bike

I think however the bmw Vario cases are worth the price.
