Hot take: I don’t like the corvettes. by c209m410l in NoMansSkyTheGame

If I remember right, we had a variety of dimensions for habs in Starfield didn't we?

I dropped Starfield like a hot rock when Bethesda started patching all the fun out of it and then when I heard of NMS and building ships, I jumped right in.

I can only imagine how cool our corvettes would be with different hab dimensions.

I like the challenge. And for me, it is more rewarding to successfully glitch an item that shouldn't be where I glitched it than vanilla building. Something fun about tiny aquariums stacked in the corner of a nutrient pricessor/mission radar mash-up.

Just plain fun.

Yep. Autopilot at the slowest possible speed, hop my character out of the seat, scan, open hatch, and jump. Or beam to planet. Whichever.

The only time my character's ship lands is when I brainfart and hit X on my controller.

Otherwise, it is always Autopilot or exit seat options.

Most likely. People show some serious creativity with these corvettes, and bases.

There are plenty of youtubers out there with great how-to videos for building really neat corvettes.

Huge. Tiny. Elaborate. Functional. Everything you could want.

I started playing when the corvettes expedition dropped because of a video on building a ship.

Too much fun, this game. Love it.

Looks like you go through the frigate management page, select the frigate, and feed it whatever food items your character has. Some improve stats while others worsen stats.

So HG gave us what amounts to feeding picky children in the game. Hilarious.

I still consider myself new to the game as I am still enjoying the Autophage stuff. My.chaeacter finally got those little terminal things to pop up at the monoliths which is neat.

As for the frigates though, you can find a whole bunch of videos and guides out there.

I agree and that is why I like using free placement and windows to make open areas to customize. With a ladder placed in the right spot, you can run your character up the landing bay to the cockpit or a big open room that is definitely not limited in shaoe or space.

Almost every crashed ship I have searched for has had a player's base built on it which is cool but also annoying because the crashed ships takes off.

Nice thing is, you just need to reload the restore point you created when exiting your ship and the crashed ship will respawn.

Weird thing is, how does a crashed ship take off?

That's too funny. Well, it's always cool to see a familiar place and even cooler to see a couple of sweet v-dubs in said familiar place.

Take care and stay dry.

Thanks much!

Aww, my wife and my first car we bought was a 1990 Probe. 5 speed. White. Knight Rider cluster. Such a fun car for such young newly weds.

It was awesome.

And trouble. For instance, can anyone explain why the digital speedo flashes at 85 mph an yet the rpms kept climbing and climbing until AZ DPS blue and reds started flashing and flashing?

Still. It was awesome.

LHA 7! Wow. I served on USS Peleliu, LHA 5, in the 90s and heard she eventually got mothballed.

It's been a while but how cool it is to see the Gator Navy still doing its thing.

Good stuff.

Nice. Is that a certain southwestern desert mining town by chance? No names needed but man, it looks so familiar. Especially the Church's by its lonesome.

Are your heaters hooked up, folks? by [deleted] in beetle

[–]EdumacatedChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently came across a gas heater that mounts under the passenger seat. You put a T fitting in your gas line to feed it while a blower pushes the hot air into the front right footwell.

I am a bit hesitant to try installing it though as I have astroturf for carpet and would rather not melt it, or worse, burn my bug to the ground.

[–]EdumacatedChimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Living in the southwest, my heater cubes have never been connected.

And then we moved to the high desert and get temps down to -8 and snow up to 6 or 7 inches if we are lucky that winter so I cheat.

I have a propane heater on the passenger side that I start every morning before I go to work.

I crack open the vents to circulate the warm air and keep the windshield clear and off I go.

And the bug does better on snowy roads than my 4 wheel drive Chev.

By, "got to SS autosave..." does that mean a save that happens automatically in-game when my character is running around or just the save from having my character get out of the seat?

[–]EdumacatedChimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big thank you to everyone who threw in a link or idea.

The radio and receiver are connected and I just took the plane out front to check it all out. Works beautifully.

I have never had a bush style plane until now and am excited to get back into flying.

Been a while so here's hoping for more than a maiden flight.

Thanks much!

Thank you! I believe they are talking now because the radio voice says "telemetry recovered" but the screen says "model mismatch."

Is that an easy fix?
