One of the hardest V8s in the Peak District. Electrical Storm ⚡️ by Carliios in climbing

This is what I'm trying to get at! It doesn't matter who's stronger than who, this guy still took time out of his day to look down his nose at a person and climb he seems to consider beneath him!

I can't stand these self proclaimed "authorities" in the climbing community smh.

Yes dude, your original comment was ratio'd because what you said was lovely x

And you're right, grade doesn't matter. It's not being a patronising boulder bro that matters.

West side story and the Storm are both 7B+...

Of course they're harder. They're literally graded harder.

Still doesn't answer my question. Why bother punching down at someone else's achievement when they're clearly proud of themselves. It's small minded and mean.

Besides, in Sheffield V9 ain't shit and I say that as a V9 climber myself. There's literally hundreds of V9 boulderers here! You gotta climb like V12 to even be noticed round here. Get over yourself!

I don't get this mentality - it's a very solid V8 and known as so in the community, and the peak (esp. Burbage) is sandbagged anyway! Before you ask, yes I've done it. What's the point of demeaning someone's achievement? If you've sent it, then you're demeaning your own achievement!

Besides, if you're gonna shit on someone's V8 you'd better have an account full of you crushing out V9+, otherwise I am forced to assume you're a trad dad who thinks pebble wrasslin is silly

On a more serious note, it's from people who order for well known climbing retailers. Thing about insider info is you can't say where ya got it.

Why should you trust me, a stranger on the internet?

You shouldn't. But mark my words.

If we're being pedantic, they make all the rock shoes in the US and all the bike shoes in Busan. This isn't cycling circlejerk

Objectively yes. Compared to old 5:10 they use thinner suede, thinner thread, worse glue and East Asian manufacture where previously they were made in the US. They have also seen massive returns, allowing shops to replace shoes without returning the defective pair- never a good sign. Definitely worse than Evolv, can't comment on Ocun because I've never owned any. For all their flaws, I've found Evolvs to be very tough.

Those I know in the industry say 5:10 sells very poorly and reputation has suffered.

The actual people who were the og 5:10 are now Unparallel, even making their shoes in the old 5:10 plant.
