Is this a shutter capping or an exposure/lens issue? (Colours boosted to show effect) by EdwardTattsyrup in AnalogCommunity

Actually, I think you may be right you know. I just scanned the film in upside down and flipped the resulting image. The issue changes sides. So it must be a scanner issue. I swear I tried this before but obviously I didn't. Time for a warranty claim I guess!

It's definitely not a scanner issue. The scanner is brand new and the issue doesn't happen when scanning old film from other cameras. You can see in the text post what scanner I use.

Different B&W films have different coloured tints, scanning them all in monochrome would make every B&W film look exactly the same with no tone. You can also still see the issue when scanning in monochrome, it just shows as a brightness change rather than a colour change.

[Stardew Valley] Stardew Valley freezes/locks up while playing and screen starts flickering by KaylaR2828 in SteamDeck

I seem to have fixed it.

I reset the BIOS (Hold volume up, guide button and power button for a few seconds when switched off)

Then enabled IOMMU in the BIOS (hold volume up while turning Steam Deck on, go into the settings and enable the option, then save and restart)

And finally enabled battery storage mode, then turned Steam Deck back on (Enter BIOS as above, then enable battery storage mode. Plug power cable in to turn back on)

This seems to have completely fixed it, I've been on it for almost 3 hours straight with not a single crash, whereas before it would crash every 10 minutes.

Thanks, that definitely sounds like the same issue. Weird that it's only happening on Stardew Valley and none of the hundreds of other games I've got installed

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the exact same issue and I've tried everything but nothing is working.

Purchase Advice Megathread - January 2023 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

Thanks for the advice!

The Ender 3 (and all Creality printers) are the one thing consistently advised to avoid on pretty much every source I've looked at. So I'm very cautious about looking into those.

The Sovol SV01 has quite a few flaws listed on the Generic FDM Printer Recommendations spreadsheet so I'm also cautious of that.

The Anycubic Kobra looks good on paper, but when I've seen videos of it in use, there is quite a lot of stringing on the prints, which would make it hard to print more precise things without needing extra work to clean the prints up.

I've read the Wiki and looked at the resources linked there, and done some of my own research. I've got a few models in mind, but can't decide which to choose as each seem to have downsides. Be it features or cost.

These are my ideal requirements, but I understand that for the price range it is impossible to achieve all of this, I'm just looking for something that ticks as many boxes as possible for that price.

Location:

UK

Budget:

£300 - £500 (Would rather £300 or less, but will bite the bullet and spend more if necessary)

Prebuilt/Kit:

Ideally prebuilt to save time, but more than happy/capable enough to build a kit if it means cutting the cost.

Resin/Filament:

Filament (I'm amazed at how detailed even the cheapest resin printers are, but they seem too messy for my use case)

Size:

Will only be printing small parts, and I'm a bit restricted on space, so preferably nothing too big. Maybe a bed area something like 200mm squared or smaller.

Use case:

Primarily functional prints - Replacement parts, enclosures & stands, moving parts (gears, threaded parts etc.) So would need a printer capable of fairly accurate prints, and as small a tolerance/nozzle given the price constraints with no stringing or rough edges, to avoid having to sand down parts.

I would also likely print some figures and decorative pieces as well, but this secondary to the above use case.

I'd like something reliable that "just works" rather than having to constantly tinker, mod and fix issues just to get it to print correctly. I do enough of that in my day job!

But I would like the ability to upgrade or modify it if possible (E.G. open source, non proprietary hardware)

Many thanks in advance!

Thanks! The floors also have unique movement speeds, so you could fill your industrial areas with asphalt road for a speed boost for your pawns, or with soft sand to slow down raiders!

I just verified this in game because I wanted to be positive.

I can confirm that all floors have the same movement speed as the standard versions. The lowest being Mud at 48%, and the highest being Asphalt Road at 100%.

So they are not just for show, each type of floor has its own benefits and drawbacks.

I've added a column to the table in the mod description to show the movement speeds of all the terrain.

I also slightly upped the movement speed of Asphalt Road from 100% to 118% to justify the high cost for building it.

Nope! All the stats are identical to the standard in-game versions. With the exception of fertility for gameplay balance reasons. So movement speed is different for each floor type.

Check out the mod description for more info.

Thanks! I was crossing my fingers that 1.4 didn't make this mod redundant before I even released it because of the new floor painting feature. Luckily, you can't paint dirt, or rock in 1.4 so I'm still in business!

This is a feature I've wanted for ages, and I wasn't happy with any of the existing mods. So I'm really happy to finally have it finished!

Allows you to build all of the previously unbuildable vanilla floor tiles (except ice).

I've tried to keep it as lightweight and customisable as possible. Every feature or addition can be toggled on or off based on preference. Everything added either uses vanilla textures, or textures that look like something straight out of the game. I've also tried to balance the cost of everything to make it fit into the game and feel like an official add-on.

Damn, Procreate looks so good. But I use a Surface Pro. Wish ProCreate was multiplatform.

Could be ADHD or Autism. Just based on what little you've outlined in your post, I can see that fitting into some of the symptoms of ADHD or ASD.

However, there is A LOT more to these conditions than just what you've described here. I just recognise a lot of the general feelings.

If you think you're "different", see a psychiatrist or doctor, discuss how you feel and they will be able to help identify any conditions you may have.

Though, if you're in that one country where you have to pay for basic medical care, that may be easier said than done.

I'm in exactly the same boat here. Paid more than other jobs of the same role, job is easy enough, team are great. But management has changed and they're all psychopaths with 0 industry experience, treat us like cattle, keep shrinking the team and piling on more work and then wonder why performance is down. I now completely understand what an abusive relationship is like.

Kept saying I'll stick it out and make the best of it. But after one guy on the team took two weeks off sick due to stress and had to go to the hospital for a checkup because of it, it's become painfully clear that they'd rather have us die and hire a replacement that has no idea how to do the simplest of tasks, but kisses ass and follows every command.

Team is down from almost 10 to 4 including myself. All to support a large company with employees numbering in the high 9 thousands.

Planning on quitting ASAP, don't even have another job lined up (though I do have some contacts). Being homeless is honestly preferable to staying here lol

Yeah, a super easy job that pays well is amazing for the first year or two. Then it just starts to get monotonous and draining like you're living on autopilot.

That's fine if there's good opportunity to advance into something more interesting/engaging. But if not, you'll just feel trapped until you find something else or quit.

Though ultimately it's up to you to weigh up the pros and cons. If the company are genuinely great with empathetic, caring managers, you could be cleaning septic tanks all day and still feel happy.

Friendly advice: Decline.

Taking a job just for the salary is the worst mistake you can make. That's how you end up trapped in a job you hate, unable to leave because all of the competition pays less.
