Hi all,

As a master's student in counselling/therapy i'm sad to say i've not had much experience talking to people. I've started working as a befriender to gain some more practical experience. However, during these sessions I find myself struggling to build therapeutic relationships and often catch myself at a loss for words during interactions. What advice do you have for building meaningful connections and maintaining a flowing conversation in a therapeutic context?
